In this video:
+ I play an epic game of Scrabble.
+ I get hot under the collar about critics.
+ I show a CD which has travelled 10,600 miles to get to me.
I can't stand most reviews in general - the ones where the critics don't seem to give a monkey's left bollock about the thing they're reviewing are greatly annoying, but even more so are the infantile negative reviews that bash not only the work itself, but everything it stands for.
People don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that there is no way of proving that an artist's work is total crap by definition
. Reviews should not be put out there if they're brimming with bias and the critic's unnecessarily opinionated views. I mean, I'm all for character
in reviews (which is why I love st. alfonzo's /newstuff style) but I hate the way critics blatantly pass off their opinion as cold, undeniable fact. If they don't think an album stands up on its own, there's no need for pomposity.
