    Gloomy/melancholic WADs

Good call! I was just about to recommend this one, too... I was this WADs biggest fan, even before I got the chance to get involved with the special edition. Playing CaH is and was easily the most memorable experience I've had with any Doom wad, and really, maybe any videogame period, heh. The ambiance is pretty stunning. The outdoor areas really chill you to the bone. And the military base areas ranging from banal offices, dingy basements, barracks that almost seem truly livable, high tech labs and more definitely strike a genuinely realistic feel.

    Anyone need music?

I reworked and extended one of my old pieces for the map "Gold" by Kaiser_Wilhelm, which will be featured in the upcoming Heretic Treasure Chest. Though it was written with his project in mind, I don't secure copyright in any form, and don't care if anyone else wants to use it. If you use it, please just have the courtesy to credit me with my full name (Ben Wachal), forum name, and email. Also, if you use it, please let me know, I'd love to see your project. http://www.usaupload.net/d/pvg5jidz7z7

    Anyone need music?

Greetings. I'm an amateur musician, more specifically I play guitar and compose MIDI stuff. If anyone is working on a project that needs music, I might be able to help. In the link below is some MIDI stuff I've done lately, and some I've done not so lately. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i1g1ew51iju In addition to MIDI, I also have the capability to record guitar and work with synth drums for "real music" as such, though my experience in this area isn't very vast. If you've played the newest version of Cold as Hell, you most likely heard a few bits of music of mine, as well as some 1337 voice acting too. Please let me know if you are interested.

    Slopes.

Will DB2 ever be able to render them in 3D mode?

The one in the original post is older than hell. I can repost it, if you want.

    Anyone need music?

I just realized how bad the one track (the first melody you hear) in the above song sounds on certain soundfont sets. I'm going to change it when I get home, and upload it again. WAY too much sustain.

    Anyone need music?

Here is one I just finished. Used a weird scale for this one. Probably my most directly Doomy one yet. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u5evgmz1xdk Feel free to use this in any projects you want. Same thing for any of the previously posted files. I just request that you credit me in some fashion.

Anarcho-capitalism, hopefully. I definitely consider myself to be anti-statist, but I actively avoid calling myself an anarchist as this puts me in company with more braindead left-leaning socialist assholes than you can shake a stick at. The kind of "anarchy" where private property rights don't exist is indeed really fucking retarded. Anarcho-capitalism, on the other hand, I strongly believe would not only work, but would work far better in every conceivable aspect than any other system of governance and economics. Private industry and the free market don't need a government to survive/thrive; exactly the converse is true.

    Thanks. =D
  13. Not sure if this was done for a reason, or just overlooked... Whenever you assign a thing a thing tag, and then attempt to copy/cut it to someplace else, the tag is dumped. Very inconvient at times, at least for my purposes. Could we see this fixed in DB3?
  14. guitarman

Copy/cutting & pasting things dumps ID tag.

Indeed, my bad. I never knew about that setting... Interesting. I looked for it too; my revised suggestion, make it checked by default.

    Makin' Doom music

    What is the song?
  16. I've recently played Cold as Hell, and found myself stuck in the staff housing area. Looked for hours, but never found the last access code. Upon searching the forums, I found I wasn't alone, but nobody else really offered a solution (except for idclip, but that ruins the fun of the game quite a bit). After a bit of futzing, I've found a way to fix the problem. Enter "puke 11" into the console. Each time you enter this, it will give you an access code. Just collect all the codes that are there, then once you get to the library, punch this into the console and everything should be fine. Obviously you can just bypass the whole staff level by typing it in 8 times, but thats no fun, you cheating bastard. Hope I managed to help somebody. PS: I've posted this on the ZDoom forums too. I just want as many people to see it as possible, as I think it is rather important.

Access Codes in "Cold as Hell": Solution

I think I did read all of them... I'll check it out later, just to make sure.

Access Codes in "Cold as Hell": Solution

I'm quite sure I read EVERY note, except the last four, before I even set foot in the library (most importantly, the one that tells you the code is in fact in the library)... I remember having this exact problem the last time I played, too.

The continuing legacy of Eric Harris

I don't know where the hell you have been, but it has been that day for a long time, pal. I'm all for legal concealed carry, when possible. But, screw the places that don't offer it; I'd carry anyway. Civil disobedience FTW!

The continuing legacy of Eric Harris

The anti-gun leftists and euroweenies make me giggle. I'd like to see somebody try to go on a shooting spree at a gun show, or an NRA convention. You wouldn't be able to even AIM before being turned to hamburger. How far do you think this guy would have gotten on his shooting spree if even just a few staff and students had been packing heat?
  21. "... In celebration of our release of DOOM onto the Xbox Live Arcade, I went and visited one of our offsite archive bunkers looking for a bit of history to share amongst the populous. Deep in the back I found the last remaining boxes of the Original DOOM T-Shirts, which up until now our X-Large and Large shirts have been unavailable, and only a limited stock left of the Mediums and Smalls. I have pulled out some of these shirts, once again making them available at the id Store. There are only a limited number of the Original DOOM T-Shirts left, so act while supplies last. ..." http://www.idsoftware.com/store/index.php?view=merchandise&page=3 Only small and extra-large left, though. I bought one. :D

    New Bobby Prince music!

Sometime in April, Bobby Prince put a new song on his site called "Doom IIV", saying it was what he would have made as a them for the newest Doom project (Doom 3?). You need bittorent to download the song. He also encouraged fans to email their opinions of the song to him, stating "If this works well, I will be releasing hundreds of songs in this manner." http://www.bpmusic.com

    New Bobby Prince music!

I agree. I really liked the 'rock' music in Doom & Doom2. I suggested he aim his next project towards that sort of sound in my email.
