I watch it sometimes. I like it except for those back-stories they show before they run the course that have nothing to do with the competition. "This guy's coach has cancer", "this guy was sexually abused".

I generally feel the same. Especially with computer music, it's assumed it's played by a computer so I don't expect anything else than perfect computer playing (and I don't mind that at all). But when the music is portrayed as 'being played by a band' and the band practises together and plays concerts together, I'd rather just hear the band actually playing their music without all the extra recording tricks and with any playing imperfections and mistakes left intact (no matter how glaring).

That's almost every band's studio album these days. Unless it's specifically stated somewhere, you can probably assume they recorded their album like a TAS demo.

I think it's awesome that chocodoom supports pc speaker sfx, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. On my winxp comp with chocodoom 221, I set the sfx to pc speaker in chocolate-doom-setup.exe but I just get silence in-game. Note that my comp doesn't have a sound card and the pc speaker sound effects in doom.exe work.

I use doom.exe without dosbox on my winxp computer for testing vanilla wads and sometimes casual playing. That comp doesn't have a sound card, so playing doom.exe with the pc speaker sound effects is the only way I can play doom with sound. Do any source ports offer pc speaker support (not emulation)?

I like to add a bunch of dolls in the void, stick the last one where the player starts, and then pick a doll from the void when needed.

Another way could be to dehack a replica caco to spawn from the ceiling and use ceiling heights for the zheight.

Is it possible to hack a sector after building nodes to make it invulnerable in vanilla so that the player can't get hurt at all?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that thread, thanks guys. :) I was hoping for a truly invulnerable sector, though, for voodoo doll scripting in vanilla (so you don't lose any health when the barrel pushes the voodoo doll and so you don't have to use an invulnerability/health pickups). I've played a few 90's wads that had invulnerable sectors which I assumed was a node builder error, but maybe it was an error with an old version of prboom-plus. I've seen other maps with disabled splash damage in some sectors, but I think that also prevents the player from being pushed by the explosion.

There's a prefab for that: skytransferprefab.wad Copy this into the map and put the sky texture as the upper texture on each line. Tag 0-99.

I assumed so, but then you wouldn't have enough ammo to kill the revenants without a lot of non-berzerk punching. If you're into ammo starvation, check out feckyoo by gggmork.

Actually, those are Nostril Caverns songs, but cool that you remembered that name. Yeah, the doors open after each enemy type dies. There are control sectors on three of the four doors to stop them from opening, then when you walk through the first open door, it raises the next control sector to allow the next door to open, etc. btw Ribbiks, I did listen to those songs you posted and they were cool. It was especially cool to hear a recorded version of that dfd song. :)
