I trust nvidia more not to release sucky drivers. They always seemed to have better quality control than ATI in that area, so personally I would go with nvidia.

I've been following the news on this whole thing for a short while now. Everything points to there being no really attractive military options for the US. If they strike by air, Iran may retaliate against Israel with missle strikes (and there goes the whole middle-east peace thing). And of course you can assume that they would attack troops in Iraq. Which means the US would need many more troops on the ground in the region. What to do then? A draft seems like the logical outcome. No?

Maybe if Doom3 had been this incredible experience this would be a good idea, but err, it was just an ok game. Seriously, they need to try new things, and by that I don't mean Doom3 with a different name and different monsters.

Here is an honest question: Do Christians believe that extra-terrestrials may exists out there, or does that conflict with their faith? I'm no expert, but I thought they believe that God created the universe and that Jesus is the "master of the universe" to quote a pamphlet I once read. Sooo, did Jesus die for the sins of aliens in Alpha Centauri or are they automatically going to hell or something, or do most Christians discount the possibility of sentient, extra-terrestrial beings? Also, does anyone here believe that the Earth is 6,000-10,000 years old?

Pretty straight-forward question.

From what I understand, when you delete a file from your computer, it doesn't actually wipe it from the hard-drive, but instead designates the space as free space to be written over. But until it is written over, the file should still be recoverable. I've never tried it or needed to, but appearantly there are programs out there that can help you get those files back.

I think id should be more worried about making better games, not about what the general public will think of the shitty doom movie.

I think they're probably just a bunch of incompetent jerk-offs, and that is the reason it is taking so long. According to your theory, it took 3drealms twice as long to make a really shitty work-in-progress than the average dev would have needed to put out a finished product. So shitty in fact that they decided to scrap it all and try again. I'm not impressed. Aww well, I shouldn't be mad at them. They'll probably end up making hand-held games or something.

The problem with the backward legs ala-Baron is that it's kind of an akward way to move for bi-pedal creatures. Anyone see that movie The Arrival? The Aliens in that film have the same setup.
