Again, this mod by (kirby?) lets you take control of demons by posessing them and attacking others, and then returning back to being a player character. I'll see if I can find it.

40oz is currently spending 40 days and 40 nights wandering in the desert living only on hemp seeds. No I'm not joking.

oh, DVII is getting bigger, so I've heard.

A few mods come to mind: Doom: Rampage Edition - Good concept, but shitty execution. This one was pretty bad IIRC There was a really cool mod that was in black and white that got released recently that did this very well. I can't remember the name right away. GvH - I've never played this, but check it out if multiplayer is your thing.

Scuba is working on something entirely new. Ashun Doom 3 will feature life-like HDR graphics, cover based shooting, iron sights and improved physics as well as online match making. I think it's currently at 55 (EDIT: 155) maps, but they need to get to at least 300 before they release it. Isle has gotten the flu and it might not be finished for at least another 3 weeks days.

I might be interested. I'd need to know some more first.

I agree with sporkeh

A friend of mine finally convinced me to get this game for PC. uggggggggggggggghhhhhhh... Started playing the singleplayer. This is the most ridiculous republican, 'patriotic,' pro-war shit I've ever played. This game goes out of it's way to demonize 'the terrorists' and everything that challenges the 'American freedom.' Even just the opening cutscene also tells me that they didn't hire any good writers for this crap either. And fuck multiplayer with a rake. This game is nothing but anti-muslim propaganda. I can't believe I paid for this crap. ... at least there's weed in the game :S

wow awesome work! rf' has inspired me to show what gunstuff I'm working on. I've been working on ripping the Duke64 guns to make them as close to the original as possible (gloves notwithstanding): compared to this screenshot from in-game:

I'm going to make all my mods require a serial unlock code to play from now on. EDIT: Seriously, is Ubisoft not familiar with Comcast?
-
I might release my Duke Nukem Advance TC sometime.

Locks only keep out law-abiding citizens.

I just read his letter. I think this man really believed in what he did, and I certainly agree with a lot of what he said. Unfortunately, this guy's gunna get written off as a nutjob and no one will really hear what he has to say. What a shame.

This thread has inspired me to go smash an XBox 360. Seriously, I was actually considering buying this game. I refuse to buy anything from Ubisoft.

I hope this is a joke. EDIT: Eternal is probably working on something.

I was going to mention a wad, but then someone stole my bicycle in a mysterious way.

This only adds more proof that 9/11 was a controlled demolition. [/making fun of hellbent, i love ya buddy!] Thank science that no one got hurt, although I really wouldn't mind if a few more IRS buildings got hit by planes.

anyone willing to playtest a couple levels?
Patrick replied to lathaniel's topic in WAD Releases & Development
OK, done playing. Tested with GZDoom 1.4.3. The Good: Very good use of consistent color themes and texture choices. The second map in particular shows some good attention to stylistic consistency. Its definitely not the noobish square room maps that I expect from threads like these. The lighting in the second map shows a lot of thought, so keep that up! Needs Improvement: First of all, WAY TOO EASY. I'm generally terrible at FPSes altogether, and I suck even worse at Doom. I beat this on my first try on UV. For reference, I can't even beat Doom 2 MAP02 on UV :S Make UV harder. First map feels like its too short. Why not make that map part of the second one? The first map is too flat and doesn't have enough height variation. The secret in the first area to the blue armor is kinda obvious, but that's not a bad thing. The 'arena' fight in the first one feels too cramped around the corners, but it made the fight more interesting. Otherwise a good start. I might upload a demo if i can figure out how to do that. -

What's the scariest thing you've ever seen? [bump]

When I was 8 years old, I used to live in a rural area in Northern Colorado. Our house was adjacent to a a county road that was mainly farms and pastures on the other side, and this road led all the way into the mountains. There were maybe 2 houses along this entire stretch of road between us and the foothills. I went outside late one night because the dog was pawing to get outside. I shone my light on the road and I saw another kid standing there in the middle of the road. He was probably my height from what I could tell and there was something very off about him. He was somewhat disproportional, and stood in an awkward position relative to how any normal person would stand. I shone my light on him and he turned around. I got the scare of my life. This wasn't a person. He had large, blue eyes, slightly smaller than the size of tennis balls. The thing I remember most is that his pupils shrank to the size of pinheads when I shone my light on him. He had no other distinguishing features on his face, no mouth, no nose. I don't remember what he was wearing, or what his hair looked like (or if he had any for that matter.) I was so terrified I ran back into my house, and woke up my parents. They looked off their balcony and saw him running down the road, and shouted at him. He didn't stop running and disappeared down the road. This is an MSPaint doodle of what I remember: I think it was a chupacabra. -
Yes, but there were some questions and answers in the thread that should be useful to folks who wanna use it. Jonnyfive made some things a little clearer in his responses.
