  1. So my community college held a drawing for a free copy of Windows 7, and oddly enough, I actually won. So now that I have a brand-spakin' new copy of Win7, I am in the tedious process of backing up EVERYTHING and writing down all the programs I have installed and where I got them. Suffice to say, I'm hitting some hiccups and could use some advice

    (1) Does anyone know of a cheap (free?) file host that can hold ~20 GB of files for an extended period of time?

    (2) If anyone here has had the chance to use Windows 7, is there anything I ought to know?

    (3) Dooming is one of my major hobbies, has anyone had any problems running Doom, ports, editors or any other Doom related programs?

If there's any advice anyone can offer for making this upgrade, I'm all ears.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Janitor

Windows 7 has some functionality which requires you to run an application as Administrator to modify any file outside of your home directory.

This caused me dramas with Doom Builder and XWE until I figured it out.

I never had a problem getting DB or XWE to work on my Win 7. Are you running 64-bit or 32-bit?

32-bit. It was Doom Builder 1 which was probably half my problem. I just had 7 on my laptop to stuff around and see what it was like. I run both through Wine on Linux normally.
