I try to hang out with girls all the time and girls LOVE to text instead of call. I usually try to hang out with girls more often than guys. I have a few guy friends and a ton of guy acquantances but I usually avoid getting too close and I don't hang out with them as much, though a lot of times I tend to text girls to find out what they're up to and if they wanna do something. It feels like the standard for getting a date going. Ive kinda grown to be accustomed to texting because of it. Is it weird to send guys text messages to see if they wanna hang out? To me it seems like a really girly thing to do.

Meh, some people insist upon texting and get all angry when you don't send one back. As if their texts are so incredibly important they need to be acknowledged. Like it's somehow incredibly rude like you're ignoring them and it's the equivalent of intentionally ignoring a phonecall or plugging your ears and screamming "SHALALALA" if you were in the same room as them.
Chicks love their texting. To the point where they will text their friend standing right beside them so they can swap private sentiments about other people in their immediate vicinity. -
My next door neighbors (we are separated by a wall) texted me one nigh, "Come on over! We're bored!"
At which point I wondered, "How lazy can 3 people get?"
Also, there is a girl who texts me all of the time. She hates talking on the phone because of... I don't know, miscommunication or something. It's funny, because I'm the reverse.
Doesn't matter if it's dudes or dudettes, texts are becoming more and more frequent in my life. Lame. -
