  1. After a long layoff I have continued to work on my Doom II megawad. This thing has most likely been rotting around for a good 10 years on my disk. Map01 to Map11(episode 1?) are as good as "done" and can be considered alpha once Map02 has made it.

I'm currently working on former which I redid due to input of tester "Nandor". He also recommended redoing Map03 which I'm not too fond of, but if other input should also hint in this direction than I guess I'll have to.

Looking back it is striking that this megawad started out as a Map01 to Map07 replacement in the way it "accumulates" as a whole. Due to this Map08 is a kind of reset and hits the brakes a bit by pushing the player into a more organic map which serves as a new set point for the megawad to again, but this time more slowly, unwind.

I have many good sketches / designs and love most of the work I have done, but it will be a tough road until these stubs can be called real maps.

    We'll see.

Work, on "E2M3", has continued and I have switched the blue key placement which is now dependent on difficulty. Did some preliminary shading and added some ammo.

I did some minor "tunings" on E2M3 and sent the map off to DuckReconMajor to get his opinion on it.

      Looking forward to his input!

I had a fruitful conversation with DRM and thus I'm attaching a revamped E2M4 to E2M3 and adding Map03 of the mega-wad as a teaser. (Props to DRM for coming up with the teaser idea!)

Contrary to E2M3, E2M4 is being built from the ground up which takes a bit longer but makes some alignment issues easier as the geometry can be built around the "creative" requirements. Similar to its predecessor the level gets some mild updates to the routes besides the usual item / monster placings.
