  1. The funny thing is that we both forgot about those monsters until we were almost done map 5. We were focused on using the textures for the most part. It wasn't until the 11th hour that we put in the sprites for the Mancubus and the Arachnotron. It was essentially: 11th hour rings Me: "Oh yeah, what about the custom monsters?" Lord_Z: O_O

    Huzzah! Over the past few months, I've been working on another project with @Lord_Z. This is the result! Intergalactic Xenology is a set of 5 Boom compatible levels (MAP01-Map05) using the Ancient Aliens resources as a base. PrBoom, PrBoom+ and GZDoom were used for testing, but we recommend using GZDoom for the full effect. Please do let us know if there are any issues that need addressing. Don't forget to save often!     Ah, thanks for that screenshot. I also got an email back confirming that same texture is the issue. I updated the link in the first post with a version that replaces that texture. Thanks for being patient with us, this is the first time either of us have come across this situation. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

    Thanks for the comments, Juka. It's weird that you weren't able to climb the stairs. I didn't have any issues with that when I was testing. Thanks for the interest, DoomKrakken, and apologies for the missing link. We had uploaded it to idgames, but it was rejected, so we are looking into what we can do to address that. No ETA on that yet, but the hope is not terribly long.

    For anyone interested, we made some changes based on the feedback we received. These include a bunch of visual improvements as well as some gameplay/balancing changes on maps 4 and 5. The first post has the updated link to the file. Let us know if there are any other issues.

    My apologies if my map didn't quite meet the standards/expectations. I honestly haven't seen this map in years, haha. If you want to try and adjust some things, go ahead. But would it be possible to get a copy of the modified wad file afterwards? Just so I have an updated version of it on hand.

    Thanks a lot for the feedback, guys. Will certainly take a closer look to see what can be done about some of these points. The 4 radiation suits was actually more for co-op, but I suppose some of them can be marked as multiplayer only.

    Huzzah! Over the past couple weeks, I've been collaborating with @Lord_Z on a Heretic release. Here it is! Lost and Forgotten is a two map release for Heretic's E1M1 and E1M2. Heretic+ and GZDoom were used for testing. Let us know if there are any issues that need addressing. Don't forget to save often!     Thanks for the additional feedback, guys. And thanks for looking more into that crash! I was experimenting with this, but I found that even if I removed that Gargoyle, I would get the crash again if I clipped back up from the boss arena and ran back to sector 1288 after waking up all the enemies there (not standard player behavior, sure, but still :P). Sounds like you may have already fixed it, but for me it simply closed the game without any error message. Thanks for checking it out though! :)

    Thanks for all the comments, guys! And thanks for playing through the maps. :) Interestingly, they weren't set to be friction until much later since I didn't want it to be too frustrating to play. I tried it out a bunch and it didn't seem to be as bad as I remember so we decided to add it in to (hopefully) add a little bit of challenge. Thanks for the report. I can take another gander at that area and see if I can reproduce it. I didn't have any issues when I was testing it in that port.
