What Music Do You Listen To While Playing Doom?

Sorry, only just relised that someone replied to me. In answer to your question, only Phaedra and Stratosphere so far, they add great atmosphere to the game. If I'm feeling really brave I'll put Alpha Centuri on. To be honest most of the Tangerine albums I own haven't had the honor of running along side doom yet. Force Majeure is one of my faveourite albums period, so I should give that a go soon. Cheers.

Post your Doom video! [but don't quote video]

Good thing you're not playing it then. ...The music in case anyone wants to know is ripped from Gauntlet IV on the sega megadrive (or genesis) (1993)

What's something about Doom that you absolutely hate?

I appologise for losing my rag on what is a light hearted topic. I love it when bad guys can open doors to come and get you, like one time when they opened the left door at the start of E1M3 before I'd even gone up to it. ...But then I'm always dissapointed when they can't or won't open doors. Another thing, I really, really, really wish there was TC of Alien Vs Predator (Atari Jaguar).

You have to do this in order to get the secret level on Ep3 don't you? So why is it a bad thing? Why don't you just fuck off and play something else? Also I can't stand peaople who use "pwn" ...it's a bullshit word made up by 2 year olds.

    Alt Death Who What?

Hey, I have made some frames for an imp death in which his head pops off and he keels over a bit like a marine death... yet I want the death occur randomly along with regular deaths. I would really appreciate any advice on the subject. I have looked all over and I can't find any info out there. I also wanted to add a touch of nashgore gibbage here is the code that failed, no errors, just no alt death (the frames in question are are VWXYZ): actor NashGore_DoomImp : DoomImp replaces DoomImp { states { Death: TROO I 8 TROO J 8 A_Scream TROO K 6 TROO L 6 A_NoBlocking TROO M -1 stop TROO V 0 A_SpawnDebris("NashGore_Gib9",0) TROO V 0 A_SpawnItem("NashGore_GibGenerator",0,0,0,0) TROO V 8 TROO W 8 A_Scream TROO X 6 TROO Y 6 A_NoBlocking TROO Z -1 stop

    Best Doom Console Port?

Oh, I missed that, maybe I configured my controller badly. I have to say one thing the 32X version does have going for it is its smoothness. Good luck with the tinkering.

What Music Do You Listen To While Playing Doom?

I use Microsoft GS Wavetable thingy... But I would like something to beef the MIDI up a bit and I'm not sure how to go about it.

    Best Doom Console Port?

Hey, Out of curiosity I have just played the Sega 32X version. It is the same simplified version as PSX (and Jaguar) except that the view screen is reduced to the size of a CD box and the music sounds like you have a severe ear infection ...also, no strafe, not even single button strafe, no god damn strafe!

    Best Doom Console Port?

I'm not forgetting anything, I had the PSX version and used to play it all the time. My point was that the maps it did have were accurate in layout and detail, which is why I was supprised when I had my first encounter with the PSX version. There are many plus points with the PSX version too, such as the atmospheric music (which I still enjoy in WAD form) and coloured sector lighting.
  19. Actually ignore that last one, I was playing doom 2 on the psx and on one particular level the screen went black and it said something in white text at the top corner of the screen. The message I can't quite remember it was something to the equivalent of "maximum sprites cache limit reached" or something, basically I think there were too many monsters for the system to handle.
  20. Lost Souls trapped inside walls, you can see them but can't shoot them... this was in PSX Doom and is a known bug.

What kind of sick corporation sends a space marine into a monster-infested world with only a pistol anyway?!

    Best Doom Console Port?

I'm always gonna be impressed that the humble Super Nintendo managed to pull off Doom, not only that but the map layouts are pretty much identical to the PC version. This is something that even the mighty PSX version struggled with. I know that the floors and ceilings weren't textured and that the enemies could only face you, and that the controls were shit, but c'mon. It was friggin Doom on the Snes!

Lets talk about Episode 3: Inferno

E3M7 is more about doing things in the right order and not falling foul of the toxic red stuff. This strategy element makes it a different kind of challenge, certainly doesn't feel wrong to me.
