  1. Agreed, the face splitting and punching to a gory paste is really overboard, I mean, it doesn't even seem like it would be that fun running from monster to monster performing these "death combos" on them.
  2. Sounds great Aubrey!
  3. The only stealth map that comes to my mind is one level (I can't remember which off the top of my head) from Doom II Reloaded where you can't make any noise (i.e. attack) for nearly the entire level or a ton of arch-viles start teleporting all over the place. You had to either sneak by the monsters or run away from them, needless to say it was a hard one.
  4. Doom 2 Reloaded and Hellbound have always seemed similar to me for some reason.
  5. The first and last screenies look good AnonimVio -that second one has too much open space IMO.
  6. I'm curious about how many players nowadays play with no-saves and pistol start... That definitely makes wads much more challenging. What's weird is that even though I'll lower the difficulty all the way to the bottom when I having a rough time, I can't stand using saves unless I'm absolutely stuck (looking at you Sunlust).
  7. Just got to level 3 and I wanted to say that it's awesome! So nice to see some Doom 64 levels around! Anyway, I should be able to give some feedback on levels 4 and 6 in the next couple of days. As for levels 1 and 2, I really like them, my only criticism is that there is a lot of backtracking in level 2, but it's not a huge deal.
  8. PSX Doom was the port that got me and my friends into Doom proper (and also into dark ambient music strangely). I remember playing a level or two everyday when I'd get home from school and having a ton of fun, it truly was the greatest port of the game.
  9. R.I.P. Ty :(
  10. It's an awesome movie. And it's not that a Doom movie would have to be a masterpiece of cinema, but it really needs to include Hell as the bad guy. I honestly wouldn't have minded the actual Doom movie so much if the monsters had actually been hellspawn and not genetic weapons or whatever they were.
  11. I think Event Horizon is about as close as we've gotten to a real Doom movie.
  12. I don't know if I'll buy it as soon as it comes out, but yeah I think it looks cool, Hell especially looks like it'll be awesome.
  13. Very cool, a DooM wad inspired by the Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath sounds awesome! My only critique is that you shouldn't make the player run through the void like you do in the video, it's very awkward IMO, besides that it looks good.
  14. Like others have said... John Carpenter's The Thing Event Horizon (the closest I think we'll ever get to a real DooM movie).
  15. Doom 2 Reloaded has got some stinkers in it (like the first map tragically), but I think it has a great feel all around.
