I liked it a lot, and there was a cool bit of infighting right at the beginning for me.. not sure if that was intentional but good job! Short and sweet, yet fairly intense (especially for me since I'm a N33B).

If you could have changed ONE thing about Doom, what would it have been?
pavera replied to TheeXile's topic in Doom General
Yeah I've always thought of the Demon to be more cannon fodder than anything, simply because of that. -
It would seem so! Though I guess he doesn't tend to find himself floating around his unfinished maps in 3D mode wondering what he should do to it next.. like I do.. >.>

Do you map really, really fast? Or do I map really, really slow?
-
Probably either E3M2 or E2M8 for Doom.. Doom 2 is a split between Map02 and Map18. I love all the music, however.. so it's hard to choose!

Wait, isn't that dial-up? Or am I looking at the wrong ISP?

Home, Comcast Cable: Download (Best) - 22.97 Mb/s Upload (Best) - 2.252 Mb/s Download (Average) - 19.55 Mb/s Upload (Average) - 2.09 Mb/s Not too shabby I don't think.. Tested in a few different servers (including Kuwait City which gave me 3.89 Mb/s). I'm actually really shocked at how well it did, considering how unstable my internet was for the entire last year.

A couple shots of a map I'm working on for my upcoming E2 replacement. They're not as extremely detailed as some of the other shots here, but I've never been a detail oriented person. In other words, it plays better than it looks. (hopefully >.>) I take my sweet time at mapping however, so you all probably won't see this episode for a while..

No mouselook for me, but it's not a skill thing for me really. I just don't think Doom should be looked up and down at. :P

Video game monsters that scare the hell out of you

Yes! I remember I always stopped at the level where you crawled around in the dark sewers.. :< Also, I was absolutely terrified by everything in X-Com: UFO Defense. Now that game had atmosphere. -
Maryland, USA. Smack in the middle of Carroll County.

Yeah, I've never even tried making a zDoom map.. Vanilla mapping is great for just picking up and messing around with anyways. (which is how Demonic Libido came about >.>) I always enjoy putting on a CD, pouring a bowl of nachos, and starting a new map to see where it takes me.

I like mapping in vanilla, it's fun to work around the limitations.

This is true! I played it again and didn't shoot the lost soul this time, what do you know.. :>
-
Huh.. Not sure. If it was then.. shame I guess! Either way I enjoyed it enough.

I would have put some in, but I didn't think that would have been a very good way to introduce myself.

I actually really liked JtRLimbo 2, the boss battles didn't bother me that much, and the first fight went by pretty quick...

Space! I can move! Thank you for providing me with large, maneuverable play areas which I can glide my happy feet across without being disoriented by bumpy (i.e. ugly) floor details. Please continue making maps! I believe that your open plan style (much akin to my own) is one that is lost among many other mappers, and I would be heartbroken not to see it flourish into something truly excellent. 4/5
