I've some abandonned crap that i never finished from a while ago that i picked up ago recently. Perhaps these will be useful for FreeDoom? (Caco maybe?) Of course these are still not finished. But I'll continue to add stuff here and upate them as I work on the sprite sheets.
-
As promised, here's the "Blood Scepter". Hopefully it's to your liking. I didn't use any colors outside what I saw in the Blasphemer Palette, so it should convert ok.
-
Its not a problem, i'll just stick with the ones you have. All i'm sayng is that variety will be a bit lower than normal Heretics. Also, the Bloodscepter will be finised by tonight (weapon, not the projectiles).
-
Hm, the lack of color variety in the Blasphemer palette is gonna cause some problems with many sprite aspects, since it will lack color variety. Especially with projectiles, since only certain colors work well for projectiles, the lack of "bright" colors is gonna make many attacks look blan. Espcially the lack of purples and other intermediate colors.
-
Dah crap, its missing all the Neon blue colors. D: It looks a lot like Hexen's pallete. EDIT: Btw, i updated the Frostfang to fist the recoil perspective problems (and some tidying up). It SHOULD look a little better now.
-
You you mind sending me the Blasphemer palette. Or take a screenshot with XWE and post it? I would help with future sprites.
-
Here's the "Frost Fang". Please tell me if you guys already have certain projectiles and other effects made. EDIT: Look below I hold the way I used to make the "recoil" works out in game.

Custom Monster Sprites that are possibly useful?
Ezxariarch replied to Ezxariarch's topic in Freedoom
Is there a lost soul already in FreeDoom? It would be better if the Pain elemental actually fits the design of the Lost Soul. I have a design idea for the PE, but i'll wait until I see the FreeDoom Lost Soul (if it exists) first. At any rate, the sprite's i'm showing you is only the base that will be used for my own personal uses. I'll make an alternate version for the Cacodemon with some recolors and edits (most likely gonna remove the tendrils and replace them with spikes or something. Wont take very long, since the caco has so few frames to work on. -

Only the death frames remain, i'll just need 6 (5?) for it to be enough to replace the Cacodemon. -
Havent seen any newstuff for like a month now. Is it no longer being made? Or is everyone just too busy due to school and/or work?

I think the best way would be to plan out waht you map to have before actually starting one. Pick a name for it before you start, gather up some ideas and then sketch the basic rooms out on graph paper. Build the map 1 room at a time and making sure that everything in that room works (as much as possible) before you move onto the next.
-
Pain Elementals (archviles close second), esopecially when there are more than one. Spawning lost souls all over to waste your ammo.

1. No. 2. Maybe 3-4 on Skulltag. 3. Once 4. No, because there are no regular DM servers with people on them with ST. 5. I DM until I get bored, have other things to do, or the maps gets really retarded. Like Sonic DM.

It's kinda hard to compare the two. I enjoyed both games. However, on the first try, I'd say i enjoyed HL much more than Doom and DOom2 due to the much more interactive environment and it was one of the few games at the time that actually made me tense and afraid I was going to die. The Doom series does have a lot more replayability, since its short, simple, and to the point. Good when you have a bit of free time but dont wanna spend a lot of energy on tiring yourself out with puzzles and tough enemies. I always thought Half-Life was oddly similar to Doom, where all the Demons were replaced with alien/extra-dimensional creatures. As for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2....DOom 3 was pretty crappy in terms of game play. The first 15 minutes was like "WOW, looks so awesome" then it gets "Hm, looks like HL but with better graphics", and finally "Can't see shit, captain!".

TeamTNT's Return From Oblivion: Released
Ezxariarch replied to ReX's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Just tested a couple of the levels, and I was most amazed by the archetecture. The shear scale of the maps and the openness was what i liked most, nothing was cramped and it made game play very enjoyable, even though it was still challenging. I like the details in the map that used slopes to give the map actual structure instead of just details that didn't really do anything. I did, however like many before me, had some complaints about the monsters that came from the MRM. They seemed rather outdated for a new wad, mainly in behavior. Those Bat familiars would occassionally jump into the Imp Warlord in their pain-state than go back to bat-forem. I found that a bit awkward, but probably some minor decorate problem. The Hellguard was also pretty annoying. I couldnt tell if it was blocking my attacks or getting hurt, since everytime i blasted it with a shotgun, half of the puffs would end in blood splatters, but the other half would stay as puffs. Finally, i thought the doom weapons didn't really fit into the medieval type maps too well. It was a big strange to find monsters with shields along with enemies with modern weapons. But all of these are minor nitpicks. The over all experience was pretty impressive, as expected from team TNT. I look forward to the finished product. -
Ghost Buster Doom and Hellstorm.

Looks like you beat me to making a thread. ** Anyone got some reliable file-upload sites? I only have a Link to Mega-upload and Rapidshit. o_o Here's a link to Mega-upload: Mega-Upload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JIGNDS5C I've also uploaded it to /Newstuff. If you got a FTP client, you can grab it from there, I guess. (I just dying to see the drama that will arise from this). :D

Vader has More Sprited monsters than anyone, I believe. Simply becauses his edited monsters are so heavily edited they might as well count for ones done from scratch (i.e. the KDiZD Soul Harvester and New Cacolich). As for the spriting, it's easier for me to hand drawn bigger and more complicated monsters, like ones the size of the Cyberdemon. Smaller and simpler monsters, such as Caco-like ones and imp-ish ones are easier done if you just draw them in MS paint. It's not too hard, just extremely tedious. Weapons are all pretty easy, aside from weapons with rotating parts, like a chaingun. Cuz then perspective comes into play when you make the rotating barrels.
-
You're not using the right version of GZdoom; at least From what i understand- the Chainguns and Shotguns aren't being dropped by their respective monster. If that is the case, I'm not sure how you got it to run in the first place. Update to GZdoom 1.0.20 (NOT 1.0.21, it wont work properly with that version yet) and see if it helps. That's the only version I could find. :(

New 1024 map , But with a twist....
Ezxariarch replied to sausage's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Just played it and i have to say that it's pretty interesting. The gameplay is pretty easy, but fun, especially with the underground rooms. It can definition use a lot more detail though. It looks really plain right now. But good work, nonetheless. -
Megawad? Some? There was only one map. o_o Unless the version at idGames is not the latest version.

Just tried out Neo-Doom, for the time it was releasedm it's pretty decent. Interesting Dehacked weapons, though that 'Nuke'-BFG is really buggy. It drops a bunch of fire-actors that themselfs can be hit. Which basically results in some giant firestorm when you shoot another nuke-shot. The splash radius for the fire is WAY too huge, but i guess taht's unchangable due to dehacked's limit.s Over all, pretty interesting wad, though I cant say it's the best.

Wow, now that is wierd. I thought the original Doom2 Extreme was pretty strange (althought cool at the time), but this is just freaky. Iral doesn't even look like he's made out of liquid anymore, more like a reskinned imp. But oh well.
