  1. There are no redeeming factors in winter for me. I don't know, if you're in the mainland States or something where snow is all exotic and shit, it might be cool. But here where I live, winter is just overkill. It's cold, there's a shitload of snow, sunlight lasts a few hours, it's cold, the streets are filled with sand, it's dark and cold. Have to dress up warmer, have to turn house temperature up. Also, in school we had to ski every Goddamn winter no matter how much everyone hated doing it.

Fall sucks too, it's not golden tree leaves everywhere, it's winter junior. Dark and wet, the harbinger of worse times yet to come, autumn is like a good summer gone alcoholic.

Spring is great, summer at its best is fantastic. Long days and bright nights, it makes me feel fresh and free. There's extra energy to boot, as opposed to winter when I just want to sit in all day and troll forums with varying success.

Winter this year in Ohio has been pretty tame. We only had one short blizzard with an accompanying Level-2 road conditions (no driving unless absolutely necessary).

I live atop a rather large steep hill in an apartment complex, and in past years, if the road freezes or is covered in snow, it because quite challenging, if not impossible, to drive up. During the blizzard I mentioned, the hill was one of the only ones in the city that was plowed and salted. No walking up a massive ice-covered hill in the frigid cold this year!

Also, my car doors like to "freeze open", meaning I have to wait for the car to thaw out, or I have to hold the damned door close as I drive to where ever I am going. This only happened once this month, but the door managed to close after about 5 minutes of the heat running.

Heh, today was a rather strange day though. For being close to the middle of winter, today we had pleasant fall-like temperatures, melting away any leftover snow from the blizzard. I didn't have to put a coat or jacket on when I left for work this morning. Hope it lasts a while.

Overall, for me, it's been a great winter so far.

Driving in winter is the worst. I'm glad I have a 4x4.

My truck is the opposite. It can be a real fucking pain in the ass to get the door open sometimes.

In St. Louis, December is the dead of winter; however, weather here follows Missouri rules. For those unaware, this essentially means total chaos. Thus, we get tornado warnings in the dead of winter.

      I hate this state sometimes.
