    Sloped sectors

I'm under the impression that I don't need the Vertex Height Things in UDMF? Triangular sectors seem to give access directly to the vertex when editing in 3D mode. Will I have problems later by not placing a Thing on the vertex?

    Doombuilder error avalanche

hmmm...I was doing some copy/pasting, too, but wasn't getting any linedef errors. Even the Doom Actors being inherited from were an "unrecognized" error. Every Actor in the Decorate. The editor would then show all Actors, allow me to place them in the map, and even show a proper sprite icon for each one. Moved the ZDoom.pk3 up to the top of the list and all the error shenanigans stopped. I dunno but I sure was relieved. so...if it doesn't like your linedefs, it attacks your decorate. noted.

    Doombuilder error avalanche

I ran into this recently, too. I set Zdoom.pk3 as the first resource to load and the problem went away.

Of course! I wouldn't be able to remember specific examples and you would probably be hard-pressed to find readable online copies of Lovecraft stories in the "Golden" or "Silver Age" comic books as these were the creme, very valuable, and still under copyright. "The proliferation of cheap periodicals, as early as the turn of the century, led to a boom in horror writing. One writer who specialized in horror fiction for mainstream pulps such as All-Story Magazine was Tod Robbins, whose fiction dealt with themes of madness and cruelty. Later, specialist publications emerged to give horror writers an outlet, including Weird Tales and Unknown Worlds. Influential horror writers of the early 20th century made inroads in these mediums. Particularly, the venerated horror author H. P. Lovecraft, and his enduring Cthulhu Mythos pioneered the genre of cosmic horror, and M. R. James is credited with redefining the ghost story in that era. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_fiction#Horror_in_the_20th_century I found it interesting that Wizards of the Coast held the copyright to Amazing Stories at one time. If you've ever been a fan of TSR and it's D&D, you may have heard of them.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazing_Stories#1980s_to_2000s Robert Bloch was a writer who was heavily influenced by Lovecraft (and a personal friend). I've already posted a cover crediting Bloch here and three covers with Lovecraft and Bloch here. Bernie Wrightson was a personal favorite of mine and known to adapt (or influenced by) Lovecraft stories for comic books. Another favorite was an artist named Jean Giraud (who signed his work "Moebius"), and is talked about here. "Entities also called Many-Angled Ones appear in the Marvel Universe in the storyline "Realm of Kings" where they rule an alternate reality. This story line was in their Guardians of the Galaxy comic where an alternate universe invades the main Marvel Universe." - Lovecraftian horror in comics Wolverine's adamantium skeleton on the cover of a "Guardians of the Galaxy": http://www.yankeeclassic.com/miskatonic/library/stacks/periodicals/comics/lovecraft/comics1.htm

Yes, B horror. Most are kinda silly with bad writing or art but a handful are gems. That's looking at it by today's standards, though. The question does not compute ... does not compute ... compute ... compute ... The thread will self-destruct in T minus five minutes ... The question ... abort ... abort ... yep The characters will be there but often the scene depicted on the the cover doesn't make sense when compared to the story. Sometimes it will. The cover artist was given a general concept while the actual story writer and artist were other people. Usually, the skeletons are going to be the the last page or even last panel because, when Death shows up, end of story. So, "yes" to both. A book could go through several people before making print. Story writers, cover artist, story artists, inker, colorist,... A lot of the stories were adaptions of Edgar Rice Burroughs, H.P. Lovecraft, etc. various splash and other panels: EDIT: I'm looking at your question again. No, they weren't all skeletons. Zombies, ghosts, maniacle murderers, animals gone wild, etc.
  9. 1. Is there a standard for how far from the playable area a control sector should be? 2. Name a good example of a zip/pk3 where libraries, Decorate, includes, etc. are used. The map authors and final compiler really knew what they were doing.

Bonus points for the '59 Caddy in the background. Danse Macabre - Ian Emberson Death came to me in a mini skirt As skittish as a kitten, And said: “I am come for your final flirt”, But added: “You don't seem smitten”. Says I: “Well - not in my wildest whim Did I picture you looking like this, I'd been told that you were a reaper grim And behold - a saucy miss”. “Ah - many a one is like yourself Surprised by my winning smile, I have jokes and jests like a playful elf And I know the way to beguile.” “But please - just pass me by with a nod I've poems and plays unwritten, There are footpaths I have never trod As you say - I'm not much smitten.” “Oh hush my darling - and don't repine”, And she gave a gracious prance, Then she twined her fingers into mine And whispered: “Shall we dance ?”

I've often thought about opening a "better" Haunted House but the return on investment wouldn't justify for several Halloweens.
