Doom3 edit for noobs..?

I`ve finally played through doom3 and was woundering about the doom editor.. Where can I find some help files or something just to get started with the basic principles about creating maps and mods ect? I`ve got a few good ideas( And yes I`ve read the warnings about not "hey, someone should make this ect") but want to build it myself.
I`ve searched around the internet but with little luck..
So if anyone got some good suggestions please reply.

Thanks for the compliment, we're trying our best, yet we're a bit flooded atm.

For newbies - always check the sticky posts in the sections, most common questions are answered there and the avilable tutorials are nicely listed.
