Captions & RoE

I have a working captions mod for DOOM3. I was wondering if there's a similar mod for RoE. If so, that begs the question of how to load two mods simultaneously, since RoE is a mod.

Speaking of the DOOM3 captions mod, is the circle in the lower left corner of the screen part of the captions mod? If so, how do I get rid of it without turning off the captions? It seems to be an indicator for the direction of sound. Now that I think of it, that could be useful, but it would still be nice to have the option of turning the directional indicator off.
