direct3d in software mode on mi laptop

put doombuilder on an old laptop but dx9 refuses to allow direct3d to work with the shitty old gfx card/drivers (dell latitude: neomagic 128**) attempted a registry hack to force direct3d to go into software mode to no avail. so basically i cant run doombuilder's 3d mode, windowed or full screen

thoughts?

umm, you can make maps in the 2d mode...

yeah having to do the old fashioned preview ingame and use my brain to figure out what textures should go where. if only there was a gl engine that handily drew missing textures as brigth green!

EDGE: "idhom" cheat, works in GL
PrBoom: "tnthom" cheat, don't know if works in GL

cool, except i just realised that if direct3d refuses to work on the crappy laptop video chip then gl probably wont either. ho hum.

i only planned to knock together maps on my laptop anyway and obviously clean and fully functionalise them on a proper computer anyway. just thought it'd be cool to be able to map in the kitchen, heh
