Ideas for Shotgun AltFires

Im out of ideas ATM, anyone got a good idea about what to make the Altfire be for the single barrel and double barrel shotguns?

The most obvious alternate ammunition for a shotgun is a slug.

hmm...how much damage should it do and how would I make it look like hes replacing the scattershot with the slug (yes I have considered this same idea, but wasnt sure how to implement it correctly)

In googleityoumoron.com]Painkiller, the primary fire of the shotgun is a shotgun, the alternate fire is a freezing shot. That doesn't quite make sense, but the alternate fires and primary fires of weapons in Painkiller never do quite add up. You can also have a chaingun cum rocket launcher, submachinegun cum flamethrower, shuriken popper cum electrogun. What I had in mind was porting the frost shards of Hexen to Doom.

Goes from buckshot to birdshot. Does half damage, but really pisses them off :p

Or go for an HGL slug shot, change the gib sprite to the sprite with a hole punched through it to really get the message through. heh. :)
