Oh my! Look at those mountains.

There i was the other day (why is it always other day?) playing gleefully a nice, calm Doom session, when i noticed the sky texture in episode 1. Oh, that brought me back. I remember that in 1994 that was totally reallistic. they looked awesome, as if they were really there, not just some background. I think it helped a lot to set the mood in E1. But i was left wondering.... Do those mountains really exist? And if they do, Where are they?

Just imagine waking up, opening your window and looking into those things!

I've heard they're in China, but I'm not sure if that's correct.
