how do you organize your files?

Recommended Posts

I have 3 folders ...

ZDoom - all single player levels and wads.
SkullTag - all multiplayer levels and wads.
WadAuthor - in ZDoom folder.

All my doom things are in a folder on another user's (1 one of 5 users) desktop, so I have a shortcut to it on this user's one.

'Shortcut to zasdasd'

In there I have everything to do with Skulltag, and there are folders in there which branch off to different engines like Vanilla and Zdoom. Things i'm editing go on the desktop directly.

No, i'm not organized.

Total mess in the zip and download directory, but a directory for each WAD in /usr/local/share/games/doom/wadoom[2]/.

/Files (all my engines and wads are in)
Ultimate Doom.bat (files\prboom-plus -iwad files\doom.wad -complevel 3)
[...]
Alien Vendetta.bat (files\prboom-plus -iwad files\doom2.wad -file files\av.wad -deh files\av.deh -complevel 2)
[...]
Deus Vult.bat (files\zdoom -iwad files\doom2.wad -file files\dv.wad -warp 05 -skill 4 -config files\oldschool.ini)
etc...

Basically all my stuff is in C:\....\desktop\zdoom

all my editors and wads are in there.

every now and again I declare war on the mess in there... and so now I have things like all the original zip files of downloaded wads etc in their own folder, and wads that I really liked in their own folder as well...

and I have everything backed up ... as well as all my doom stuff on a usb stick as well.
