Doom 64 is Doom 3?

Except that their "taken criticism" was actually just self-criticism (well, in-team criticism if you like) + time pressure.

It's not all that uncommon that a game developer has big ideas that have to be watered down or removed entirely because of budget or time constraints. Also, in Doom's case, because the others didn't agree with Tom Hall's vision.

I think of Doom 64 as a sequel of the PS1 ports of Doom and Final Doom since they've been ported by Midway San Diego. The same folks who made Doom 64.
