bump. i've been working on map04 for a few months and i can't take it anymore :) i'm done here. after that i got some quick improvements elsewhere, too.

another small update to bump pl2 on top :) seriously, kira and peroxyd... you will burn in hell for adding those cacos to map07.

Hello DooMers ..

thx to skepticist who inspired me to come to this forum and drove me doing some more uv-max runs for PL2. Also like to thank dew and enjoyed his fights with kimo_xvirus in this thread :)

Here they are, but don't expect too much, cuz I'm just an avarage "gap-filler" of the dsda-table:

map10 UV-max in 6:44
map19 UV-max in 12:28
map06 UV-max in 13:38

By the way, I currently don't think that a second edition of PL2 would be released soon. It's a little late in the meantime, so keep on demo-recording for this one. It's just a great top megawad in my opinion. Feel free to be impelled this way, Gusta ;)

bump. anima's claustrophobia map33 max reminded me of pl2map33 and my plans for it. two quick easy-ish pacifists to make company... and i added some bonus -nomo demos collecting dust on my hdd.

i'm trying map26 speed from time to time, but that's one tough cookie. i keep dying after _killing_ the cyberdemon, 5:xx times. sorry pa1ny, just the nomo as a teaser. :)

P.S.: gusta, get back to working on those fixes and desync our demos, please?! :)

hello pl2 thread, long time no see.

map28 UV-speed in 1:14

includes a zombie demo, although i didn't survive even a few seconds. i've read doomwiki on the matter, but i'm still uncertain how exactly it works out. i mean, i know (err.. i think) it was triggered by the voodoo doll punishment for cocky speedrunners that eternal staged on the trick button, but... how? i didn't notice going to zero health.

My awe to you dew!

You do so constant and well indeed. I've just astonished your new ones. Really great job! Though map10 can be better, it will never be below 1:00.00 i think. And map07 will probably only be beaten again by yourself. The new map15s reminds me a little of my very first pl2-run (0:56 in map30) in the end :)

For myself .. well .. I've deviated from it somehow :(
But it seems like we 2 are the only guys left, that are basically interested in pl2-speedrunnin' or pl2 at all.

It may be possible my motivation will reborn with the upcoming winter months. And then it's really time to strike on those map-design masterpieces map23 and map26. It's still so fun to see even you getting so nervous in your 2:14 at map23 again and again :) I love that demo so much.

keep going dew, you're the savior of UV-Speed these days :) I don't have the motivation now to do some of the hard PL2 maps these days, I only plan to improve your map10 run one day and map32 when/if pl2 gets updated :)

ha, thanks pa1ny. i'd love to see some maxing on 17-18-20, all excellent and fun maps, although i realize planning and finishing them is a huge and time-consuming task. i still hope one of you max specialists will take care of it. :)

i'm glad you like that map23 stuff, but i'm kinda sorry i screwed the map so much. :) i mean, this route hints incredibly short times, but actually doing it quick outside a TAS is next to impossible. i tried an improvement recently, but i quickly realized that the magic is gone... it takes loads of training and a specific state of mind. :) i'm still battling with map26 from time to time, though.

EDIT: HA! awesome stuff, kimo. i feel your pain about the archies in the last room. i doubt a real chance of 9, though. it would take immediate attacks from both archie waves, and from my experience, it's unprobable to do the first jump when he attacks you straight away, because his line of sight gets blocked. i managed to get 7.29 normal exit with ZERO prospect of 6, btw. :)

After a time of absence due to things like Uni assignments (bleh!), I am back to get my fix of FANTASTIC speedruns. Absolutely loving them! RJ's, single-digit health, really entertaining text-file comments, and *amazing* skillplay... Loving it all.

You guys rock, and the map designs are awesome too.

If you like rj's, you could check out zdaemon/zdoom demos with rj's - there's much more variety compared to classic rjumping. For example, in addition to dew's classic rjump demos, he's also a pro zdaemon rjumper.

MAP04 Tyson - improved and now with -complevel 4.
There is a trick at the end (2 mancubi). I "invented" it by falling accidentally into the filth :)

I also improved MAP01 and MAP02, but the time is not good enough for me in both cases.

Doesn't pl2 just need a couple minor bug fixes here or there, or something more major than that?

Thanks for the tip, I thought it was over about Tysons in PL2. I mean, I tried MAP05, but for pure fun, no prospects of finishing (like 34 monsters killed at most).
