interesting. i was trying both the maps on and off for like two weeks, then i reach my destination time on 02 an hour after i finally 1st-exit in 08. i should go beat some compet-n records while i'm on fire or something. :)

timer is present in most boom-style huds in prboom+, just cycle through them with f5. it freezes for a short while before the intermission screen comes up.

You may also use a parameter -levelstat, which creates a file named levestat.txt with the exact time(s). This is more useful for me (I don't use kills/secrets/timer HUD) and is definitely handy for movies. An example with your 2002ADO speedrun:
prboom-plus -iwad doom -file 2002ado -playdemo ad1-1450 -levelstat
The output:

E1M1 - 0:22.69 ( 0:22)  K:   5/39   I:  1/32  S: 1/4

Thanks for the help, guys! That levelstat parameter is very handy indeed, I sure will use it when my ad2-xxxx will be ready. :)


Too bad this scythex map01 too much depends on luck. In my 0:43 demo awesome infighting happened near the exit door and both zombiemen died. Now I agree with Tatsurd: -solo-net version is much more exciting here.

Map 06 - 14.77 seconds
Map 07 - 17.74 seconds

These are pretty formulaic, but I guess that's just the nature of it.

The demo for Map 01 - 13.94 seconds is included.
