Managed once to cyber without ammo (huh, bfg? where?) and he rocketed me while figuring out what the heck I'm supposed to do. Quitted figuring I won't be even close with 70+ minute time if I ever exited :p

the map was killing me a lot, because i came off recording a prcp max and was far too aggressive for a fda. got to the cybie once, but i was leaving monsters behind and didn't have enough ammo for him. so i started doing random crap and got bored after like ten attempts at an av jump without any of the side switches triggered. perhaps i should've kept the file for enthusiasts, but i was rather disgusted by the constant replaying of the first minute and deleted it immediatelly after quitting. not my cup of tea.

Don't even say it. My fifth try on the map (yes, I had died four times already) was turning into a very good demo, I think. Time was 13:06 and I had already killed two Cybies with two BFG shots each, so I died into the third one thanks to splash damage. I raged, quit and deleted it...I still own the wad though, I like the level but it has way too many traps for a contest like this, I think.

Cool, I was wondering whether there would be more FDCs... pity I found out just now, but I'll check the demos!

The only difference is that it's the equivalent of "-complevel 2", to get the usual "-complevel 4" used for Final DOOM, you can use Doom+ (the one for Ultimate DOOM, instead of Doom2+) plus the crack found on this post. This is because there's no Doom+ patch for the Final DOOM executable, but a simple fix makes a copy of the Ultimate engine behave like it, using -file to load TNT or Plutonia.

I think I've never had any problems doing F4 and adjusting the music volume, I've done it often and my demos always synch... I think desynchs occur in some functions if they use keys that are also used for ingame controls. Perhaps people that have the arrow keys attached to movement functions have issues, since these are used to move up and down and to adjust stuff in the menu.

Paska, Doom+ is not compatible with Final Doom. But yes, you can use it for recording demos.

So, if anyone want to use port like Doom2_plus.exe, his iwad must be Doom2.wad, but Plutonia.wad must be one of two pwads.

sorry for asking but I'm not really an expert about those inputs, so i'd best to ask to not screw the very first attempt

Absolutely correct command must be like this:

Strange. I have no binds for arrow keys but got desynched very quickly.

Ah, finally I remember this issue: then you go to menu by <esc> or <f4>, game paused itself, but not write state of pause into lmp.

I think I've never had any problems doing F4 and adjusting the music volume, I've done it often and my demos always synch...


So your case is strange. Try Doom2@m01 - pick CS, make a sound, then adjust volume and try to complete map with several kills.

I guess I meant what 1ntru said about this map having way too many dick traps in it. The fights aren't really that hard, but the fact that they all happen in conjunction with a dick-move makes them harder.

I agree. I think this map can be done pacifist style (made it to the 3 cyberdemon area after 5 attempts or so). Once you know what to do for the first cybie, rest of the map isn't that hard.

Congrats for Skepticist for winning and not dying once.

No. I infight killed the arch-vile, lured all chain gunners from the "left side". Triggered the button to lower the walls around the yellow key without triggering the monsters. Pulled one caco from the bridge, other killed the pig. Wallrunned over the bridge-river. Pushed the spectre and telefragged the cyber.

We just had a chat with xepop if this telefrag is allowed. We aren't sure.

Edit: Ah the walls lower when you grab the yellow. Didn't think about skipping the telefrag that way. You died exactly the same place as I did.

WOW! what an exciting map
here's my result

finished: yes 23min++
deaths: several
score: 100%kills/100%secrets


edit:3 deaths if im right
some room or "traps" were definitely "clear" but still surprised in the kind
i didnt expect so many nasty av spawn, neither so many cybers around lol
