Miscellaneous demos (part 2) [please post in part 3 instead]

H2H-Xmas uv max demos
Map01 - 0:49
Map02 - 2:31
Map03 - 1:36
Map04 - 1:25
Map05 - 1:58
Was planning on doing the entire set, but looks likely I will spit out a few more on the run up to Christmas, but nothing in comparison to an entire demopack.

Nice runs Cannonball, I would very much like to see more :)

I distinctly remember when I was first recording demos for H2H-xmas on Zdoom that there were a few older demos for the wad, possibly from a demo recording competition or something, but I can't find them anywhere. They don't seem to be on idgames and not on DSDA either. Does anyone have any idea where to get those? I remember there were a couple of pretty amazing runs, and I couldn't get even close to those times no matter how hard I tried.

"MMH" I guess, since you have to take damage in the ending room you could argue that the best score you can get here is 10. Maybe that would be the idea here: Use the barrels at the beginning to get to exactly 10%, and then play the rest of the level damage-free?

Who knows, the rules for MMH are irrelevant at this point anyway :-P

There are at least 2 other levels named escape.wad, make sure you have the right one.

What I do in cases like this is to rename the WADs in chronological order: the earliest becomes xxx1.wad; the later xxx2.wad, xxx3.wad and so on (cf. my REDROOM demos). With all the WADs put in %DOOMWADDIR% and the demo footer on there is no better way to handle it, I think.

Also, yay, new Eternity demo! Thanks N_A. :)

ete4-349 - now that's yay indeed! Thank you, Memfis.
Although I shouldn't have been too surprised seeing that you were the man who FDA'd Back2Hell ...

So here are a few more Eternity demos, all on Nightmare:

 filename | map | time
 -------------------------
 eter21ns | E2M1 | 1:55*
 eter24ns | E2M4 | 4:06*
 eter25nm | E2M5 | 3:21
 eter28nm | E2M8 | 2:51
 -------------------------
 * - also NM100S
I don't expect there will be a complete NM demopak, though: difficulty-wise, E2M2 is on par with Serenity E3M7, at least, with the rest of the maps generally being major skithunner fests. But you can check skep's web page for the FDA pak I cajoled him into doing a couple of years ago. =)

A Nightmare demopak for WADPAK4. This is a companion to the UV Max collection, posted in the /idgames/levels/doom exploration thread. Posting this in Misc since the exploration part has already been done. ;)

E2M4 (ZIGGURAT.WAD by James Roven) 4:36
The hardest level in the pak. For two weeks I was very dubious about
the prospects of success...

It's a case when more aggressive playing makes the level easy :-)

Great ending to that pacifist. Do you think it's possible to lure the Cyberdemon towards Romero and his his rocket splash damage to kill him much faster?

Cannonball's Speedy Episode 1 wad(cbspeed.wad) E1M2 Max 3:13.

Nice map of a remake of E1M2 by Cannonball, thanks for this nice wad too! :)

Well, how can I open that secret door for that chainsaw? I still can't figure it out.

One of the silver computer panels in that long corridor flashes, you shoot that to open the chainsaw secret, same method is the soulsphere secret earlier on. Ha yeah that secret opens by accident far to often :P
I am actually making this into a full 3 episode megawad. This map has taken a bit of a drastic overhaul, continuing memfis's and Dutch devils thoughts about contracting the size of some of the areas.

Same wad as above, E2M9 Max 6:48.

Love the music, seems to from Metallica. Does anyone know the name of this song?

You seriously don't know? :) It is "Smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana, I guess they aren't popular in China?

Yep I really don't know.

Nirvana isn't too popular in Asian Countries, even in Taiwan, Korea etc. But of course most people know Metallica.
