Aardappel Posted June 24, 2001 I think they are VERY useful, and most of you are underestimating how cool they could make doom maps. It's just that all examples of them sofar are pretty over the top, but when used like you would in quake for example (the ocassional arch, nice detail and trims etc.) they would be really cool. Slopes as a replacement of stairs actually looks uglier than stairs (once the novelty wears off). Its a shame they are line based and not vertex based, because as it stands its kinda hard to make arbitrary landscapes out of them. The biggest problem with slopes atm is.... that only zdoom supports them! I wish they'd be as ubiquitous as boom features, then it make more sense to make maps using them.
