Can't sleep, meteorites will crush me!

Well I get to watch a meteor shower for the first, and probably last time of my life, the next one's scheduled for 2100. This thing's going to happen world wide, right?

the leonid meteor shower?

Yeah, but aren't they merely saying that this is liable to be the most spectacular one until 2099, not that there won't be any others before then?

This is an annual meteor shower. Earth passes through the same trail of junk every orbit. This year's is just supposed to be extra cool.

after this year the temple-tuttle comets orbit is going to change slightly and there wont be any showers till between 2098 and 2131. so see it while your able.

Too bad the full moon will obscure a lot of those meteors, but around here, the moon will be so close to the horizon (it will be near dawn when it happens here) that there won't as much of a problem watching them.

I'll see if I can't stay up and watch this meteor shower. I'm not waiting another year.

These won't be the only meteor shower of the year. Although, they are supposed the be the best of them.
