Windows Media Player doesn't like me. And I don't like it. Know of any reliable third-party programs that run AVIs, RealVideo, etc?

Nope, I use media player (hint: the video is about 29 megs, so it will be 'loading' for a while...its better just to download it and watch it later).

Heh. Yeah, but that whole introduction thing is pretty much what still happens:

DM: Okay, you guys can introduce yourselves to each other now.
Player 1: Uhh...hi
Player 2: Hi
Player 1: I'm...uhh...Drak'kar the Betrayer.
Player 2: Cool. My name is Gunnar Orkslayer.
Player 1: Hey.
Player 2: Hey...

Its hard to do right!

We're running just a quick little campaign to help the new guys in (and until the DM can find someone else to DM, 'cuz he wants to play for a change). We skipped the whole introduction part, he just plopped us on a forest road and told us we'd been escorting a caravan for the last few weeks.

Come to think of it, it's probably good that we skipped the intros with the bunch of wierdo chars in my party...

Heh...yeah, the last character to join our party had a lot of trouble with introductions. Actualy, thats one Hell of an understatement.

You see, this guy used to be a servant of Khorne, but he basicaly said 'fuck off' and left to become a risen demon (opposite of a fallen angel). You see, his old character ended up going berzerk and worshipping Khorne, so this kinda fits in with the whole campaing.

Anyway, he arrives on the Prime Material and the first thing he sees is one of our party members, a 12' stone grunt (big earth elemental guys) run down an alleyway while tripping on this weird drug that was in the bread (long story). A couple of the party members follow the stone grunt down the alley, and the risen demon guy decides to cast alter self and follow. On the way there, he gets stabbed by an assassin, who is using a parylitic poison. The demon-guy fails all his saves and falls to the ground, losing his atered form and reverting back to his own demonoid shape.

The assassins freaked out and ran at this point, but a PC that had been hiding in the shadows sees the whole thing. Being a halfling ranger rip-off of the Crocodile Hunter, he decides to investigate this 'marvelous beast'. He hog-ties the poor SOB, and waits there until other PCs arrive on the scene. Now, the halfling PC hadn't even been introduced to the party yet, so they basicaly see this hunter-fellow with this bound and gagged demon. Eventualy, they bring him inside the inn and the discussion turns to what they should do with him.

Now risen demons appear to be both evil and good at the same time, so even the Palidan can't figure out what in the Nine Hells his motives are. We sit there arguing for a while (actualy, about an hour in real time), and basicaly we come up with the plan to either sell him or kill him. He tries to roleplay out of his predicament, but fails miserably. Someone brings up that he would be even more valuble if he were sold in pieces, so it begins to look really bleak for him. By now the halfling ranger is demanding a cut since he captured him himself. But finaly, he argues his way out of the party and is put in the care of the stone grunt. So he gets dregged around by the stone grunt until he proves himself by killing a couple demons himself. Heh, sweet irony...
