hires...

The hires textures aren't supposed to be actual patch names, but instead the full textures. Like Fredrik's RW33_1 should be METAL2.

edit: it also has to be in 24 bit uncompressed format or you'll see hom and other shit.

If I could do textures, you bet your ass I would be doing them for freedoom and relapse...

Erm, the hires textures for the freedoom project ARE supposed to be patch names. They are simply hi-res versions of the patches.

We've been trying to get people to do hires textures before any port had implemented a hires feature.

If (a) port is now using hires textures in a different manner to normal textures (e.g. texture names instead of patch names) then perhaps we could write a script to do the conversion for us, however this is a PORT SPECIFIC feature and thus shouldn't effect the freedoom tree.

Jdoom uses replacements for the entire textures. I emailed jakko but he thinks this is a better way of doing things. I'm planning on writing a small program to combine the patches into whole textures.
