j4rio Posted July 9, 2012 So, long story short, we settled on doing a demo bunch for pc_cp. Goal is to get each map a speedrun in uv-max category that would be shown as the fastest in dsda tables. Any other optional demos of any category are very welcome, but it's not a primary goal to get each map a speedrun in different category than max. Everybody is very encouraged to contribute. It's a boom wad, so the most preferable port would be prboom-plus with complevel parameter set to 9. Post all your achievements here, in this thread. blob1024 Posted July 11, 2012 ehi j4, i never even downloaded this wad yet, can you advice me a couple of (undone eventually) maps I could invest some time in? else i just try a few randomly, but no idea how good quality they'll be before all maps will be covered (tnt-demopack style you were too fast ;PPP ) edit: ill be checking maps 33-40 first. 0 Share this post Link to post

Squonk Posted July 11, 2012 I gave a quick try at map05 in 2:18. Will definitery improve it (it's the first successful exit that follows a 5 minutes route planning, and it's *very* ugly). I have a compatibility question to ask... Here is my command line for this demo : glboom -complevel 9 -iwad doom2.Wad -file PC_CP.wad pccpmus.wad -warp 05 -record blah -skill 4Recording with prboom 2.4.7 (I know, I'm a lazy bum who did not update for three years, and I should probably record with prboom-plus anyway) So I can play back the demo correctly on prboom, but it desynch on the latest version of prboom-plus. I'm as clueless about it as you to be honest. I can tell only as far as that map 1 is terrible for speedrun. It's a community-ish thing so it should be up your alley. Most likely outdated port, as command line seems to be correctly set. Not sure if there's different complevel required to be forced to properly playback prboom demos on prb+.
