exl Posted October 17, 2012 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.exl.doomidgamesarchive Spent the last week making babby's first published Android app, which allows you to browse and download from the /idgames archive (through the /idgames API at http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/api) using your Android tablet or phone. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted October 17, 2012 Cool, that looks better than the main archive. 0 Share this post Link to post
MTrop Posted October 17, 2012 Awesome. Really, really awesome. Let me know if you need anything else done on my end, API-wise. EDIT: Uh, oh. It crashes when I attempt to bring up the settings. EDIT2: Nevermind. Only happened once. Weird. It was the first time I ran the app. Is that significant? 0 Share this post Link to post

MTrop Posted October 17, 2012 Okay, maybe a bit more of a trip report is in order: Attempting to enter the Settings menu on the first try crashes the app. If I go to any screen, hit my Home key, then attempt to run the app again, Android tells me it stopped working. When I attempt to run it again, it runs. It may be trying to restore a state that does not exist. Hitting Back instead of Home from the initial screens (to quit the app) does not make this happen, though. Pressing Back while in the Settings menu causes a crash. Pressing Home and entering the app again brings me back to the Settings page. Conclusion: the initial tabbed screen may not save its state properly. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Phone, Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean). 0 Share this post Link to post
exl Posted October 17, 2012 You're right, I'm not saving state when I should. I never had my device kill any activities until i forced it to through some debug setting. Guess I have more work to do. I;ve removed it from the Play Store until I can get it working right. 0 Share this post Link to post
exl Posted October 28, 2012 I've fixed the Activity state bugs and made it parse responses faster, it's back in the Play Store for those few interested. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.exl.doomidgamesarchive 0 Share this post Link to post
