Eternity is also very interested in vanila/Boom/MBF compatibility. It plays vanilla and Boom demos without desync. It's just adding some more stuff ontop of it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Eternity supports it well but I don't know if it has anything like complevels (nor did I thing it does need it if that's not its goal). On a side note about Eternity... I had NO idea it has a floating point renderer claimed to work so well. I tested several versions of Eternity in the past but I would have to delve into the code. 0 Share this post Link to post

EE's BOOM 2.02 support is still too experimental for people to be using it to record demos IMO. I don't know if I ever knocked out the desync in Okuplok's Speed of Doom MAP31 demo... 0 Share this post Link to post

Eternity does more than enough supporting BOOM already. If you want to take Doom in new directions, things like demo compatibility are likely to be sacrificed. 0 Share this post Link to post
Catoptromancy Posted November 15, 2012 I was surprised Eternity even supported older demo formats. I would not mind if support was removed so Eternity can focus on more awesome Eternity things. But a complevel system for major releases should be used so this does not need to happen. 0 Share this post Link to post
