golden egg in Hexen in ZDoom?

In ZDoom, the "indiana" cheat in Hexen gives me an item that resembles a golden egg. However, nothing seems to happen when I use it. Does anyone know what it does?

It appears to be the same as the Morph Ovum artifact from Heretic, which upon use, fires 5 projectiles in a spread pattern that transform enemies into chickens when they get hit by said projectiles.

If it's your currently selected inventory item, try pressing Enter when there's some low-level enemies in view. The egg might have been added to Hexen's inventory by mistake, but I suspect it's an "Easter Egg" for players who use cheat codes.

Sprites named like the Heretic Morph Ovum exist in Hexen. Because ZDoom assumes things are available whenever resources are provided, using cheats to get all artifacts will give you the Morph Ovum as well.

Fixing that would require a hack of some sort.

It's a treasure. Keep it; it may be worth a fortune.

I want a Faberge egg. :(
