YES THANK GOD!!!! HEAVEN KNOWS WE NEED MORE PORN ON OUR COMPUTERS!!! Uh.....tell me something. How did you cram 3.5 gigs of porn onto a 3 gig hard drive....?

I never said my hd is 3gb... because it isn't. The one that died was 40 and the one I'm using now is 25.

Has anyone else noticed that the quality of just about everything in the world has gone to shit in recent years? I've already had to replace a Super Disk and CDrom drive in a custom built comp I've had for a couple years. CDrom drives really suck anymore. Sustained speed. Is that too much to freaking ask for? I just replaced the Super Disk drive with a normal floppy. My WD HD also has about 1.4MB of bad sectors. Newer consoles (and any type of Playstation) don't hold up as good as older systems. 99.9% of all third party hardware is shit anymore. Stores sell these dumbass CD buffers that only ruin CDs by putting circular scratches in them. Mad Catz and Interact/Performance/STD memory cards and controls have been known to fry ports of systems. Newer operating systems don't support anything. Portable CD players break down right away and many electronics just aren't reliable. Most games suck ass. TV and most movies suck ass. The news media is a corporate propaganda tool when it's not reporting trivial inaccurate shit. Most music sucks ass There's surely lots of suckass books too. There's always been a majority of suckass stuff but now just about everything sucks ass. The worst part is there are just too many stupid consumers anymore for any of these markets to crash forcing people to actually make good stuff in order to make money.

i've had the best luck with Maxtors, although i hear them getting called crap alot.

I've got a 40GB Maxtor and a 40GB Seagate in this computer, and the Maxtor is a much, much better drive ;)

no
the reason why i said that is that is whole comp is fucked.

Where exactly does he say that there are problems with his motherboard, CPU, graphics card, sound card, modem (or whatever), etc?

Well, if you think about it, RG was right-in a way. If your hard drive's screwed up, then pretty much everything else is too.

What? So I see you to DooMboy employ railgunner logic; If your hardrive is screwed up, well, you need a new computer. WTF? That means you get a new HD, not a new computer.

No no no, you ass, I didn't say that :) Nowhere in that post did I say that. I said what I meant to say: if your hard drive's messed up then your whole computer's messed up. That doesn't mean you've gotta go get a whole new computer. It means you've gotta get a new hard drive, obviously. Now stop jumping to conclusions. :)

When you say "railgunner is right" that means go agree with him. If you were smart, after you said "in a way", you would have followed that with "but you still don't need to get a new computer, just a new hd".

Well, I sort of figured that people would read that post and figure that out for themselves.

Actually, I had an HD issue a couple years ago (mine crashed because the reader scratched the drive to shit) and my cdrom, cdrom fan, and CPU fan went at the same time. That was about the time was writing my old dehacked mod Firepower...Anyway, it wasn't the hard drive that did that. I think Railgunner's logic holds some water, unless the quality of computer components today truly is utter shyte.

No Gokuma, I agree with you whole heartedly with a lot of products today...except for books. Well, to an extent. A lot of NEW authors suck horribly. But the older more established ones only write better and better. Hell, look at Stephen King. Although he actually started off writing some really good stuff in the 70's, and his work under the Bachman pseudonym was just fantastic. And I'm not fan of Stephen King.

Movies I agree one hundred per cent. For instance, I have yet to see a comedy as well done as My Cousin Vinny.

Games, again...all they want to focus on is realism, but the majority of the market doesn't really want that...they just say they do until they play a "realistic" game (a game with uber-cheating AI is the best way to put it) and then say fuck it because it's too hard. Besides, realism is not an escape.

Although the cd cleaner stuff doesn't scratch until it gets dirt on it...then it rips the shit out of your cds. But most lenses can read past that. the worst it'll do for the most part is light surface scratching. Now, those cd cases that hold so many cd's, THOSE will fuck up your discs.

And in regards to music, I actually disagree. I find there's just as much shit and as much good stuff as there was before. The good stuff stays around behind the scenes while the shit gets a brief spotlight and then disappears. Take Vanilla Ice for example :P

And in regards to consoles...The only 3rd party stuff I buy is Interact, because it works. And even then, it's only for my N64. I'm not buying a new system, until I can afford an X-Box. And you're right, systems are also made shoddily. There is nothing, and I repeat NOTHING more durable than a Nintendo system. And I should know because I beat the shit outta mine. They go where I go. I doubt i could constantly do that with a PS1 or PS2 hauling around 30 or 40 games.

Whatever, i'll miss the DVD, I won't give two shits about the floppy, and the hard drive I'm using now has 140mb of bad clusters, but I had it for 3 years. It works. I'm happy with it, everything else works just fine. Therefore I will not get a new pc when I 'personally' only have a problem with that busted hard drive and dvd.
