The Marine's eyes darted left and right.

He moved around a whole lot and went real fast with all the guns and so much bullets.

He pressed up against walls and made grunt sounds.

He pulled a lever and the wall went up and there were demons.

He shot at the demons and they became dead.

Then The Marine was a zombie.

^ That pretty much sums up the demos that came with the original games back in the day.

I'm pretty sure there were no levers.

There is a legend from the old world of Argent D'Nur. It is has been passed down the generations by the elders. The tale of a man with the strength of a thousand men, the speed of a bolt of lightning and the unquenchable thirst for vengeance. He is often referred to as the demi-god who made catastrophe of demons. The creatures whom the ancients inadvertently let in. The very abominations who run amok in our cities who slaughtered countless men, women and children, who destroyed our homes, burned down civilization. Scaly smiling demons who took great pleasure in the chaos they spread. They took everything from us. But worst of all, they took something from him. The Doom Slayer. They took what was most precious to him. They took his Cap'n Crunch. You know the saying "It's got corn for crunch, oats for punch, and it stays crunchy, even in milk." They took all of it from him. Something in him awakened. His eyes became red like the crimson moon, his face turned into a scowl, like that of a raging demon and he made a life long mission to RIP and TEAR every single demon in existence. He stormed the military compound and grabbed the latest high tech combat suit and a collection of weapons that would make Rambo blush. The demons were caught off guard as he tore through the numbers, they learned to fear him. Eventually they were able to trap him by placing a bowl of cereal in a magical sarcophagus forever trapping him.

Doomguy continued his long, unending search for both demonic Hell monsters and human survivors on Mars. It had been so long since he found any contact. There was no one to speak to and the isolation was as vast as space itself. He looked down at butchered bodies and wondered if he'd ever find a living soul.

Two skulls encased in an eternal burning flame illuminated the darkness of space and screeched down toward the Mars surface. Doomguy had seen it before, two lost souls that one shotgun blast destroyed one of them. The eyes of the other grew larger as it sped toward the last marine. Cocking his trusty, double barreled shotgun he obliterated the second before it had time to harm him.

With his two foes easily defeated, the armor clad marine reloaded his shotgun. Once the two shells plunged into the chute, that's when he looked up to see giant red banners proudly displayed outside a facility. There was no facility marked on his map. It was some secret Mars base.

The red banners were hard to miss. Each one had white circles and black insignias in the center. These banners were commonplace in museums and personal collections back on Earth, but they haven't been displayed in the open since Hitler's era. They were indeed Nazi banners. Somehow Nazis had a hidden base on Mars.

It was another chance to find survivors and Doomguy had to quench his curiosity. The marine cautiously made his way past dust covered turrets and discovered his way into an airlock.

The walls were made of blue stone which seemed strange for a Mars base. Why use stone when metal was perfect? There were bodies strewn everywhere. Even the secret Mars base had been discovered by Hell's demons. No one had survived the attack and there were atmospheric breaches everywhere with bodies floating through corridors.

Doomguy's suit is advanced enough to translate German text for him and soon he learned this facility was a cryogenic prison. The Nazis would have to have some terrible prisoners if they'd store them on Mars.

The facility was vacant and devoid of monsters, light and power in certain sections, but eventually the marine found the main holding cells. Rather than traditional cells these were pods in grand fashion. Each pod had a red light illuminating its prisoner. One-by-one Doomguy walked by the pods to check their status. The first few were broken into. Their glass cracked and the bodies inside were mutilated.

After checking several bays full of stasis tubes, the green marine discovered what he had been looking for. He had found another living soul, if you can call frozen animation living. The cell was completely in tact and different from the others. The other pods were white and pristine, but this pod was red and dangerous. Beneath its number read a sign "Den schlimmsten Verbrecher, den wir je gesehen haben" which Doomguy's suit of armor translated to "The worst criminal we have ever known."

Additional information appeared to Doomguy that this prisoner had been missing for decades. It was William J. Blazkowicz. He would probably have questions once he was released from his prison, but Doomguy would have no answers for him beyond giving him a shotgun and leading him to a space suit so they could both murder monsters together.
