if i want to make an imp shoot missles do i
1: cange the code pointer of the imps fireingframe? did this but after the imp fired a rocket, bam, a cyber deamon. or
2: replace the imps fireing frame with the cyber deamons fireing frame, not the code pointer?

You change the codepointer to be the monster firing a rocket codepointer. I don't know how you ended up with a cyberdemon... I think you changed the frame it goes to, not the codepointer. A list can be found at the tutorials section.
