Mormegil Posted August 9, 2001 I was wondering what type of damage modeling Doom 3 will use. Will you be able to shoot someone/something and blow off a chunk of a flesh, a limb, leave holes that drip blood that sticks to everything as the injured target stumbles around? It seems like such a large jump in graphical technology would also need a large jump in damage visuals. No matter how the game turns out, the level of graphical detail will assume a certain amount of realism, and if you had demons fall over spotless from a shotgun blast with a little spatter of blood on the nearby wall like in Half-Life, wouldn't that greatly detract from the realism? If for instance id came out with a game that had visuals so incredible it looked like you were watching a movie on DVD, wouldn't you want animate beings to be damaged realistically? 0 Share this post Link to post
