XWE can probaly do this . Deepsea can with quake atleast I think.

Or you can download a pak editng prog and extract the textures, change then add them to a doom wad with wintex or whatever program you wanna use..

But. there's already q2 texture wads online.. so don't bother.. just take those.

As Ebola says, XWE can open .pak files to allow texture extraction. Another program called Wally also does the same thing.

You say you want to "convert some new custom quake2 textures over to doom". Do you mean that you (or someone else) have created some custom Q2 stuff that's outside of the Q2 .pak files? In other words, the textures have already been extracted and you simply want to convert it into the DooM palette? DeepSea (and probably XWE) can do that for you.

So can Paint Shop pro and other graphics editors.

Also, make sure you have the permission of the original authors of those textures to use them for your project.

Download paint shop pro 7 evaluation from jascsoftware.com and use that to convert the pallette to doom format. (load a doom pic into psp and save its colour pallette for use on your textures - youll work out how )

Then download wintex (check utilities section on DWorld) and use that to insert them as patches into a doom wad, and simply replace textures with these patches, and use them to stick on walls in your editor.

If deepsea isnt your editor, use this method. Sorry to be breif, love to help.:P
