dr_st Posted February 11, 2002 Has the MUS engine ever been incorporated in any DooM source ports? If not, why not? Mr. Arnost has recreated it, right? De Zeurkous ----------- Friggin' Machines! I think that all decent DOOM source ports play MUS files (except ZDOOM DOS, which doesn't have music at all). The MUS format is better than the General MIDI, but the .MID is the standard, that's why many prefer it. Of course, ZDOOM even allows MP3s... 0 Share this post Link to post
Quasar Posted February 18, 2002 BOOM-based ports generally play MUS-format lumps by translating them into MIDI internally. The MUS2MIDI utility is more or less embedded into the game engine, and can actually be built from its source code by using a compiler definition. 0 Share this post Link to post
