Dehacked bug in MacLegacy

I've encountered this bug in MacDOOM Legacy while working on Metal Gear Solid III DOOM.

I open DeHackEd patches in it, and it recognizes them and everything, but they don't affect anything! I've replaced the Tall Blue Torch with an airplane pilot, and I have made him shootable and given him death animations, but nothing happens!

I know my patch is okay, because it works just fine in the regular MacDOOM II engine. What am I doing wrong?
