Tracer Posted August 25, 2015 I playtested Map04. Much better. However, I would love to see it beefed up a bit. I found it to be a bit too easy. The layout and monster placement was brilliant, however. Maybe add some more hallways and rooms just to make it larger? Think about the original Map04. Dylan Jarvis Posted August 26, 2015 I might make it a little bigger but I'm pretty proud of what I have now, considering I built it in like 2 hours while I was watching the end of the Steelers, Packers preseason game. I was surprised at how well I did, but I might add another room before the exit or something, and maybe make some stairs for the exit that gives it that illusion of descending down into the waste tunnels, or something. 0 Share this post Link to post

Brilliant idea with the stairs! But yes, definitely more rooms. A small outdoor area would be good too. Perhaps a revenant or two, and hell knights. I have no idea what boom trickery even is. So I'll just say this. If it requires jumping or crouching, don't do it. I'm mostly done with the crusher room itself, I only need some more details and monster placement/item balancing. Here's how it looks so far: It does look very similar to the original, but I want the map to focus around this room in my version. Keep the core concept the same, but make it your own! That's why this project will prove to he a new kind of challenge. You need to recreate it without copying it. I refuse to believe I am the only one that does. I want to keep that connection intact so that when people play this WAD, it will remind them of the first time they ever played Doom II.
