Level builders of the world, unite!

I think all of us that have made levels or have web pages
with our own or other levels should share links. In other
words, we should all have links to each other on our pages.
I know some of you do have links to others, but I'm talking
about a concerted effort to gather a list of all the links
of anyone who has a Doom page and then distribute the list
to everyone who has a Doom page so we can all cross-link to
each other.

I guess you could even say that I'm speaking mostly of the
"little people" who aren't "hosted" anywhere, but I wouldn't
exclude anyone.

I'm thinking of this in light of all the recent requests for
wad files that I've seen on this board and others. My wads,
for example, are about 7MB total. Do you really want to take
up the space on your account when you could just link to them?

I'm also saying this because some our pages are new, and though
they might have cool stuff, lack the exposure of guys who've
been around forever. If someone happens to find MY page by
searching for DOOM wads (bloody unlikely because I come up as
number 84 or so in a search), I'd like them to
be able to visit everyone elses.

If anyone is in agreement, then I'll volunteer to compile the
list and distribute it.

To do this I would need the following:
Your URL.
Is this a general Doom page or do you have tutorials and such?
Do you have your own wads for download?
Do you have others' wads for download?
Do you focus on any specific port (like ZDoom) or any specific
theme (like your wads constitute a TC)?
Any other data you think is important.

Email this data to wchilde@bellsouth.net. I will compile the
list and then email it back to everyone who sent me a URL.

We could even grab the one of us who is best at web design
(certainly not me, I suck) and have him (or her) standardize
the list in HTML format so we can all have the same links page.

That's an excellent idea for increasing the exposure to lesser known DooM creators. I might also suggest that you include info on creators that do not have their own web site (like me), but have done creative things. In such instances the info would consist of links to the wad files (in my case cdrom.com), brief descriptions, perhaps some screen shots.

Something of an undertaking, but a damn good idea nonetheless

Apparently we are the only ones who think it's a good idea because no one sent me any URLs. And yes, I'd be happy to add a link to your stuff at cdrom.com on my page (or anyone else's stuff).

Thats a damn good idea. I will have a homepage soon and i've done a few DM levels and am currently working on a semi-TC for ZDoom. I think this idea could really take off.
