sparky Posted October 20, 2000 Doom Must Fall (Single Player Version for Ultimate Doom) is now available at: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/themes/omf/dmf-sp.zip WARNING: if you got this from my ISP web-space a few months back then ignore this announcement - it's identical. ---------------------------------------------------------------- DMF-SP is a single-player-only version of the "Doom Must Fall" TC originally by Fairfax Sheild McCandlish IV (see the text file for the large list of changes made). DMF-SP features new monsters and weapons based on the game "One Must Fall" from Epic Software. Although it works with both 'Plain Vanilla' Doom and Ultimate Doom, a source port is highly recommended because the detail of the new monsters is too great for low video resolutions. Tested okay with: Doom v1.9, Ultimate Doom v1.9, Boom, PRboom, MBF, SMMU, PrjDoom, ZDoom, ZDoomGL and Legacy. 0 Share this post Link to post

sparky Posted October 21, 2000 Read the fourth paragraph! So... who's the idiot then? Suggestion for Ling - how about adding a basic IQ test as part of the Forum Registration process? i.e. imbeciles need not apply. 0 Share this post Link to post

NiGHTMARE Posted October 21, 2000 steven said:Wow. Your really dumb. U idn't even make that name. U got that from One Must Fall. I think you'll find it's you who's "really dumb". First of all, Sparky didn't originally make it, so it wasn't his idea anyway. Secondly, it would be pretty stupid to call a TC based around a game a different name than the game, don't you think? 0 Share this post Link to post
bitstate Posted October 21, 2000 i usually hates when people are this picky but steven started it so here i go ... :O) actually the tc is based upon "one must fall 2097" *not* "one must fall". "one must fall" is the title of a (freeware?) release which then evolved into omf2097. omf uses normal karate style fighters when omf2097 uses robots. .... bah by the way, omf2097 cd version is now released for free download, not by epic but i know i got it from somewhere else. 0 Share this post Link to post
sparky Posted October 21, 2000 Thats some good info bitstate, thanks. I never knew about the original non-robot version. So, if it's officially "abandon-ware" any idea what the link is? I only ever played the shareware OMF2097 and as I recall, it was very fast/advanced for it's day. From memory, I think it even ran better than Doom on my old 386 (?). 0 Share this post Link to post
bitstate Posted October 22, 2000 i'll see if i cand find it again, the differense from the shareware version is actually quite big as you get more arenas to fight in and more robots to play with :) 0 Share this post Link to post
bitstate Posted October 22, 2000 oh, and btw i found the link. OMF2097 registered cd version, freeware .. beware! ;) http://www.lionking.org/~ljaguar/order/ ... and apparently a omf II is under development http://omf.com/ 0 Share this post Link to post
sparky Posted October 22, 2000 It certainly looks legitimate. Thanks, I'm downloading it right now. For anyone interested, it's about 6.7MB and the server's not too bad (about 2.5K/sec on my old 28.8 kbps). 0 Share this post Link to post

Peter Heinemann Posted October 26, 2000 Hey, I have played this piece and it is really nice. The new weapons and monsters are very well done. I thought a little about "HACX" when I saw "Doom must fall". The sounds are also great, especially bullet-hits. I played it on my Mac using MacDoom which is like vanilla Doom plus high-res, whithout the .deh file, because the Macintosh "Doominator" only accepts .deh for Doom2, but it was very nice though. I could have played it with DoomLegacy for Dos on my PC-emulation, but this huge wad would have slown down the gameplay to much. On MacDoom it was lightning fast. Could you please tell me what I have missed without using the .deh? It looked very complete to me :o). 0 Share this post Link to post
