DooM3, and time it took to make...

Recommended Posts

Why is it that a game as complicated and good as Quake, only took a couple months to build, yet, DooMIII, being written from scratch as well was Quake, will take nearly three years to make?
I think it is capable of at least something other than one cube with many glitches by now. Spectre is gay.

Look at how complex the code for Doom was. Then look at the code for Quake. And then to Q3. See the difference. The more the industry evolves, the longer it takes to include everything that we come to expect in a game.

Actually the Quake 3 engine is just this:
1 Quake engine
1/2 cup John Carmack
1 teaspoon baking soda
Stir well, you should get a consistency of creamy paste, or Quake 2 engine. Stick inoven for 6 months and let it cool. Even though the cake is square, you can cut it into a circle to get curved surfaces. Add colored sprinkles on top to get... Quake 3 Enginge!

hrmmmm, maybe its because, they want this game to be as good as expected, and that means the Greatest :) cause doom was the best, doom2 came out, it was the best, and so will doom 3 :)
