I was watching this video on how to add custom monsters using doombuilder and Xwe. I have a problem with what he says at 1:27. I'm supposed to go to things mode and choose an option called "health", which is right underneath "decorations". His doombuilder obviously has this option, but I don't see it anywhere. I don't know how many people here are aware of the "Paul's Gaming" videos on youtube, but he's played quite a few Doom wads. I was watching a Doom video of his where he plays a ridiculously difficult Doom map called "Belly of the Beast". He finished it in 37 minutes which left me phenomenally impressed, because I'd have hit IDDQD long ago and admire the scenery. Oh yeah, I also had a doom dream when I had a fever. I dreamt that three Barons came in through the window, and I fought them off with a chain. Not a chainsaw or a chaingun, just a chain.

Out of all the wads that you've played, which had the best "hell" look? I'm always on the lookout for a good hell map, and here's my top four favourites: 4. Knee Deep in Zdoom 3. Inferno Christopher Lutz 2. Deus Vult 1. Deus Vult II

I checked out CC and VV2. I was very impressed with CC's hell levels. I also loved VV2's final level.

I like E3M4 and E3M5. I especially remember how nervous E3M4 made me because of the music from E1M8. Though overall I don't like the hell levels of Doom 1 & 2. I don't think the original creators knew how to do them properly, and they definitely don't hold a candle to much of the hell maps made nowadays.

Well, I sometimes seen an empty throne on some of the hell maps. Empty. I can't help but feel that Satan is avoiding me.

I just looked into Threshold Of Pain and WOW! - That's quite a hell! :O

That's why I prefer Deus Vult II. It's got a variety, and that Sauron tower thing gave me a nerdgasm. I on the other hand love snake textures on techbase. I think it's a very simple yet effective way to show hell breaking in. One particularly memorable bit for me was when a mass of snake textures literally came bursting through the walls.

I didn't like most of the Hell levels in Ultimate Doom or Doom 2. I loved hell in Final Doom though.
