    guys im looking for a map I once played that really impressed me at the time, it was around the time of kzdoom 6 I think? The map was a desert city that reminded me heavily of tatooine, the doorways and windows was outlined with blue which looked really aesthetic in contrast the the sand colors, it had mostly imps outside. I remember that was an engine room that you had to turn on in a basement, and there was some oil pit outside? Really wanna find this map, maybe its obscure af... idk.

    I have had nightmares from playing your maps, they were some of the first wads I played when I started downloading wads. Never thought I should get the chance to thank you for such amazing maps, I love them and they have become the standard that I measure other wads with. Even if you decide to make maps in a more "primitive" style they will be well received I am sure, just look at how well John Romeros' did - you are definitely on par with him. Every doom fan loves the oldschool maps because they do so well on their own or with gameplay mods, thereby giving them greater replayability.

    I love the new doomworld look! Anyways I have no idea what to nominate, I always have such a hard time finding new and interesting wads... there's simply too much! These are my nominations I guess :D
  6. Nightmare monsters are cheesy because they interrupt the flow of combat. On their own they aren't a problem because you can devote all of your attention towards them, but in pretty much any combination with other monsters they absolutely kill the game. If you could hit them while they were invisible it wouldn't be a problem, and you could take care of them with explosions or a lucky shot, but you are only able to hit them once they initiate their melee attack much like the swamp creatures from hexen. The best tactic is to stand still and wait for them to attack and then spam F for machete attack or give them a SSG blast. But there is no time to stand still and wait for a monster to appear when you are forced to dodge projectiles or try to get cover from hitscanners. Running for cover often means you bump into a nightmare forcing you to either spend precious time attempting to kill it or make a run for another place. Kiting around in the open againt projectile enemies is also a bad idea because bumping into a Nightmare stops you dead in your tracks. The only surefire way to deal with them along with any combination of monsters, is to stand at the opening of a bottleneck, and shoot down the corridor with a rapidfire weapon turning the game into a sentry gun simulator. I just checked out the January release which hasn't even been posted here and there's still no option to remove spectres from the mod.

    I was stuck a long time in Illuminati Revisited because I couldn't find the opening in the purple rock formation after opening it, I think that could be highlighted more with some visual indicators.
