At last i've got round to starting the new art contest. Thought up a biggee for this contest's theme This contest's theme: Draw a modified doom demon. In other words something like the doom beastiary. This one's aimed to get your imagination into gear. :) Here's the beastiary link to give you the idea. http://haunt.8m.com/beastiary/ You can do an entry based on one of these creations as long as it's not a completely new monster (eg zombiedog or the sentries). You should also give the author credit for the idea that yours is based on, just to be respectful. The general rule is that you can be as creative as you want with your entry as long as it bears some resemblance to the original doom demons. I'm not too sure if i'm going to compete in this one myself. I've made it my way to take part in every art contest except for #5. If i do take part in this one, and if i win, i'll past the topic choice to whoever came second. Same goes to whoever wins twice in a row in the future. Contest ends 2 weeks from now. The prize will be a title change (or something interesting). Have fun guys. :)

Farcry i have to say.

Quake is cool but in terms of which is better, Quake 2 by a long shot, despite the fact that there isn't a close combat weapon. Heh, i had quad damage and invulnerability this one time i fought him. The poor bastard didn't stand a chance. Way more fun to play him without those.

It kinda looked like the zombie commando and the revenant were standing their ground against each other before turning to the player in the recent xbox trailer (watch it again carefully), if it means anything. Other than that i'm sure there'll be scrapping between monsters.

They're from various sources. The caco is from a dungeons and dragons cover, since it looks like the monster. The baron is concept art for doom (adrian carmack did it i think). One of the marines is one of DSM's art, the other is from the doom comic. The demon is from the doom minatures series, same with the archvile, maybe the mastermind too. The 1stcyberdemon and "baron" imp is cover art for the original dooms. The second cyberdemon is from the legacy video. The bunny is from doom1 Someone will have to say the rest but most of them are pretty obvious.

Bleh. Cowboy bebop... I'm looking forward to hearing the scream, and i'd say it suits the powerup. But still i don't need the player to scream for me when charging at someone. :P

If you meant the image, then as long as it's no more than 100kb then it's OK. Any bigger and it'll have to be a link to the pic (no loss there :)). Other than that those textures look quite nice, though perhaps they make the wooden tree look plastic. Good work.

We generally don't allow non doom-art\doom-fic related work in the fanfic\pics forum (to be fair i was the one who helped bring an end to that. :/). See the link below. http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20831 However, since this thread has doomart in it and those other pics can be associated with doom (i.e. the marine\ uac scientist theme) i won't move this thread anywhere. Just be sure to keep that in mind when showing art on this forum.

The doom rpg thing sounds cool but if you wish to discuss this project in further detail just be sure to start a new thread. Just to let you know. ;)

I've seen that one before. Too be honest i'm losing faith in doom3 now. Flame me if you want but i'd say he looks too blocky. On the other hand i still need to see it in action (apart from the alpha).

The sasser worm has been giving me a bit of grief lately. Looks like it've gotten rid of it by updating Windows XP though.

Now that is friggin groovy. Maybe a lil cartoonish without the flesh or eyes (if it isn't the point) but that is pretty damn good :D I recommend that you pick the best photo and enlarge it for the sake of voting. I think the top left one is the best.
