Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Guardian replied to KwadDamyj's topic in Everything Else
Oh, God, duh Carole. The weapons penguin could benefit from some DOOM looks like; too bad he doesn't have fingers. :( -
Does that mean it's just the map itself? So, technically, if I wanted to save the game while on a different, smaller level, it would have worked?
-
That's happened to me, too. 'Save buffer overrun' or something to that extent is the message I get. I'm thinking it has to do with how the maps are coded/built/whatever, but I couldn't go farther than that.

Something tells me you haven't taken a Creative Writing class before. 0_0

I believe we have Shrek to thank for that. ;) Hey, wasn't Wallace and Gromit licensed by Dreamworks? -
I've had that happen to me before. There's a certain elation to having it porven that you're not, in fact, crazy.

As if you haven't had your own stories of gaming 'til dawn? :-P

Most times, I get tunes stuck in my head, not actual lyrics. Lyrics would certainly help me find out just what the heck is playing over and over in my head.

This was the best movie I've seen all year, and I haven't seen DOOM yet (kidding, kidding!). Additionally, I've always been a fan of animation. Cell, clay, CGI, you name it, I likely enjoy it. I remember catching them a few times when my local PBS station went nuts with the British-comedy programming. There's nothing quite like watching Rowan Atkinson putz around with the Nativity Scene. Since when did Daleks exist in Biblical times? :-P -
Ah-hah, I see what you're saying. Normally, I've heard those types of games referred to as role-playing games, pen-and-paper, or dice-based role-playing games. 'Choose Your Own Adventure,' 'Pick Your Path,' and similar categories, in my mind, suggest books, as that's what they've always been in my mind. That been said, I have no knowledge whatsoever of any of the pen-and-paper role-playing systems out there, so it looks like I'm out of my league here.

One would have to be very, very gifted indeed to make a worthwhile 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book based on DOOM. As it is, forty-percent of the novellas themselves are absolute crap. I haven't read the movie adaptation yet, so I can't judge that one. But, yeah, turning to a page where you shoot one monster instead of another could easily get boring.

Ooh, wonderful wonderful wonderful. I only have one grammatical gripe, if you really care about that stuff: "The rest are getting restless . . ." Using similar-sounding words close together always sounds awkward to me. Something like, "We're all getting restless" would sound better, but that's just me. I assume this is just a one-shot, one-deal thing, but it's certainly something I'd love to see elaborated upon . . . Hell, I'd love to do it myself, if you weren't going to.

I was wondering what those were . . .

As long as no one but Peter Jackson and/or Dreamworkd and/or PIXAR attempt a StarCraft movie, the world will not end.

It's one thing to have a map styled completely in just one particular tileset, if I'm using the term correctly. That's gonna get a little boring, at least to me. And I'm talkin' oldschool DOOM95 launcher; I haven't yet gotten any of the other ports yet. But if the music's good, likely I wouldn't care. Of course, it's another thing entirely if one goes completely overboard with all the gadgets and gizmos. Use your judgement, dude.
