If you feel meaninglessness, you need to seek meaningfulness. It usually goes a little bit something like this: "What obvious truths about your reality don't you want to acknowledge?" and then "what if I did what I found meaningful?". It is usually not the thing your mind "want to do" but what your being thrives in doing. Can recommend books like "Man's search for meaning". I know the suffering - it need not be there. Get angry, solve some shit, and get out of the rut. From personal experience, I felt that I was trapped by a foregone dream.

It reignited my old interest for sure. Working on my own mod now.

Hey all -- I started out with Doom modding way back in the 90's, which got me pretty trenched with idTech modding all the way up to Quake 3. This involvment with modding landed me my first job in the games industry. Haven't touched a mod tool since. This changed radically 2 days ago when I stumbled upon the myhouse.wad, and was immediately inspired to get back into Doom modding. I have this project me and a friend started 25 years ago (he ain't dead though). Seems like I need to finish it. I am happy to see all this enthusiasm and creativity around Doom. Amazing.
